The Product Planner drives planning, scheduling and production of all product through the factory.

Essential Duties

  • Producing/Processing shop floor orders through an ERP system along with schematics and bills of material, driving production by prioritizing and planning to meet ship dates.

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of product construction and assembly

  • Provide daily direction to the Assembly floor team

  • Lead weekly production meetings updating customer order status and/or production issues

  • Monitor/track production process metrics and acts to ensure they meet established standards.

  • Keep management proactively informed of manufacturing challenges and issues

  • Utilize MRP system to create the buying plan, regulate safety stocks, recommend expedites in order to meet demand while maintaining optimum inventory levels.

  • Follow up with purchasing as necessary, to resolve delivery problems or quality issues.

  • Work with purchasing to maintain inventory levels, pull in critical items, and prevent shortages.

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through controls and monthly cycle counts.

  • Manage surplus and obsolete inventory.

  • Maintain a high standard of product quality in accordance with ISO and the company Quality Manual.

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Minimum 2 years planning experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills.

  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ERP systems

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing

  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder

  • Occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs. or greater

VIEW JOBS 11/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-02-24T00:00 Overview: Sunrun is seeking an experienced and innovative Materials Planner with a record of continuous improvement and demonstrated success in materials and inventory management. The Materials Planner will be primarily responsible for inventory management of materials in the Sunrun Installation channel. The Materials Planner is a meaningful role in support of installation schedules across all Branches throughout the enterprise. Responsibilities: * Accurate and effective setup of Oracle attribution to ensure alignment of material replenishment with planning methodologies and Branch operating rhythms. * Collaborate with Demand Planner on the refinement of materials forecast models when Branch consumption patterns change as the result of product transitions or as changes in cycle-time constraints increase/decrease Branch capacity. * Mitigate the P&L impact of excess & obsolete inventory through analysis of inventory movement patterns at both aggregate and individual Branch levels and lead the disposition process for such material. * Develop and improve materials planning processes vital to operating an effective supply planning organization in an Oracle ERP environment. Provide ongoing training for new and existing Branch employees on current and improved business processes. Inventory Management: * Supervise and manage inventory performance for all Sunrun Branch locations. Ensure materials availability in accordance with Branch Stock Plans whilst also driving inventory level reductions and higher turns. * Optimize material flow and efficiency in the value chain through continuous improvement of inventory management strategies and tactical execution. * Collaborate with Demand Planner, Project Management, and Purchasing functions on the execution of milestone-based procurement activities to support the installation pipeline. * Analyze and manage min/max planned material and safety stocking levels. * Manage work orders to support new Branch implementation plans. Modify work orders as vital to support field changes, engineering changes, and schedule changes. * Act as the escalation point when Materials issues and/or conflicts arise in support of Branch operations. * Support field service and warranty material needs. Coordinate the requisitioning and supply of material which may be stocked out or require alternative substitutes due to discontinued or obsoleted status. * Other planning and logistics related duties as may be assigned from time to time.\ Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management or similar subject area highly desired; or * Equivalent experience, such as formal training in materials management, APICS certification, or continuing education in related fields. * Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Master Scheduler, Production Control Analyst, Inventory Specialist in a build to order environment. * Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in MRP execution and implementation of work orders, min/max, consignment, and free stock material management systems. * Experience in an Oracle ERP environment and/or Oracle ERP implementation experience. * Successful track record of Lean Manufacturing/Materials operations and implementation. * Advanced-to Expert level Excel skills, mandatory. * SQL and/or MS Access Query Design preferred. * Detail-oriented with a systems outlook. Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills. * Concise communications skills and the ability to influence partners across all levels of the organization. * Highly organized and attention to detail to execute on multiple projects within defined timelines. * Brings self-motivated and can-do disposition.
