Northrop Grumman Marine Systems seeks a Production Planner 2 in our Sunnyvale, CA, location to provide production scheduling for our power propulsion unit. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and tracks material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.

  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, and prepares work orders or purchase requests based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.

  • Review and track internal status of customer product. Participate in internal production meetings for assigned work center area and communicate status changes to program management in a timely manner.

  • Take action with correct internal teams to promptly resolve any program schedule issues.

  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with production coordinator, quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and Shipping/Receiving.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree

  • 2 years relevant work experience in production control, material/production planning, or work center scheduling

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Hands on work experience utilizing an MRP system, ideally SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interface between various support Departments

  • CPIM or APICS training

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement experience a plus

  • Experience working in a low volume, high mixed manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Earned Value Management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Powerpoint

This position has the responsibility to create, review, amend, and maintain attainable and effective production schedules for all silicon photonics products. Responsibilities: * Perform planning functions required to achieve the timely and successful launch of new products. * Execute MRP and the timely creation of purchase orders to satisfy demand and maintain flow of work throughout our fabless supply chain. * Communicate and coordinate with foundry partners' production supervisors and purchasing teams to ensure schedule adherence and recovery when required. * Review and maintain SAP data integrity inclusive of routings and bills of material accuracy. * Track progression of production orders, investigate factors that affect schedules, and modify plans as necessary. * Expedite critical orders throughout the supply chain. * Inform management of potential production problems and assist in the implementation of both short and long term solutions. * Analyzes forecasted demand to ensure safety stock and strategic inventory levels are maintained. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * 5 + years of experience within the supply chain function, preferably in planning/scheduling * Experience in MRP planning is required. * SAP business system experience is preferred * Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment * Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, teamwork, and issue resolution * A problem-solving mindset; the individual should be highly motivated and self-directed Preferred Qualifications: * APICS/CPIM certification is preferred Other Information: * Relocation is not available for this position Juniper Networks Sunnyvale CA
