Position Summary

The Production Operator will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks to assist with operations in production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Producing supersacks

• Receiving raw materials (i.e., flat bed, tanker, end dump, bottom dump, train/single trailer)

• Shipping finished goods (i.e., flat bed, conestoga, step deck, van trailer, LTL)

• Operate a forklift (tow motors)

• Preventive and regular maintenance

• Shop floor management

• First in first out (FIFO) finished goods and packaging

• Cleaning/housekeeping of the warehouse, and work area, as required

• Packaging 10 - 50 lb. bags of bulk product via saddle to pallet as well as filling 4000 lb. super sacks and 50,000 lb. tankers.

• Daily maintenance of equipment

• Calls specialists when more serious problems occur

• Tracks various data associated with production equipment

• Reports any inconsistencies and uses standard repair procedures

• Work in compliance with company safety and operating procedures

• Maintain high production levels in areas of responsibility.

• Other duties, as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical aptitude (training in-house)

• Understanding of the employee handbook guidelines and rules

• Previous forklift experience

• Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs.

• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing setting, preferred but not required

• Capable of working in a team and independently

• Capable of following a production report while working independently
