Job Title: Production Machine Operator

  • Multiple Shifts

Location: Fruita, CO

Job Status: Full Time

Two Shifts Available:

  • Days: Mon
  • Thu 5:00am-3:30pm
  • Swings: Mon-Thu 3:00pm-1:30am

Hourly Rate: Days $18.90/hr., Swings $21.90/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is an entry level production position working to perform the tasks associated with the manufacturing of insulation. Employee must be dependable, able to follow instructions and directions, according to established operating procedures while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Perform and Protect.

Education and/or Experience and Skills

  • No high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements</p><ul><li><p>Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor</p></li><li><p>V-flite loader, packer, carton sealer/palletizer</p></li><li><p>Quad saw end trim, quad saw packer, shorts gluer</p></li><li><p>Scoring saw loader, scoring saw packer, cut up saw loader/unloader</p></li><li><p>Glue double layer pipe, double layer block</p></li><li><p>Operate the re-boxer</p></li><li><p>Identify and segregate product for re-work material</p></li><li><p>Ensure that product is packaged according to packaging standards</p></li><li><p>Inspects product for splits and off-center cores</p></li><li><p>Performs work order assignments (e.g. assembling and packing double layer)</p></li><li><p>Follows correct palletizing patterns</p></li><li><p>Read and use a tape measure</p></li><li><p>Remove damaged cartons for rework or scrap</p></li><li><p>Education</p></li><li><p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or up to one-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</p></li><li><p>English proficiency and ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manual</p></li></ul><p>Benefits</p><p>Johns Manville (JM) offers a wide range of benefits to employees.
