Hiring Manager(s) Tracy Hudson Location Raleigh - Build & Distribution (NCDC) Category Manufacturing Description

We are looking for a Production Operations Manager to motivate and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPI driven efficiencies. This position will require assessing current processes and developing a continuous improvement culture throughout the department.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of all shop functions to include safety, manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and inventory.

  • Work with management to ensure that plant has the capacity to deliver products on time and in full per field schedule.

  • Coach, mentor, train, and provide support in the concepts of continuous improvement and the use of various continuous improvement tools (lean, visual management, statistical process control, etc.).

  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to deliver process improvements, lean strategies, and best practices in the areas of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, etc.

  • Consult and advise leadership on process and performance improvement opportunities that will foster growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiencies.

  • Support the standardization of training programs and other tools to be used across the organization to ensure consistent application of continuous improvement activities.

  • Define develop and implement maintenance programs.

  • Ensure that all quality measures are in place and consistently tested to meet standards.

  • Create a team environment of employee engagement and supervisory accountability that works to support all aspects of production.

  • Lead a change in culture to We Make it Happen and Bring it On.

  • Ensure a safety first work environment with employee buy in.

  • Develop KPIs in all areas of the plant and continually monitor for improvement.

  • Effectively communicate with management on reports of KPIs and process improvement plans, as well as overall plant status reports.

  • Continually recruit and evaluate employees to establish the best, most engaged staff.

  • Identify issues and problems and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully facilitate cross-functional projects in a team-based environment

  • Capable of collaborating with multiple teams in the company to resolve problems for the greater good

  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives

  • Acts as a coach/mentor to develop and motivate their teams

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build strong positive relationships with vendors, customers, field, and DC team members

  • Strong attention to detail and solid analytical skills

  • Show ownership of issues and responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs as needed

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
