3.1 Phillip Lim is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Production Manager to join our tribe in our NYC office.
What you'll do:

  • Communicate all production materials to factory
  • Work with various vendors on testing requirements
  • Work with external testing service for key repeated materials
  • Keep record of consumption and materials for each season
  • Maintain masters of materials for seasonal collections
  • Work daily with factory to ensure materials are being booked and received on a timely basis
  • Work with design/development team to identify and potential materials issues for upcoming seasons. Resource materials as needed
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors
  • Brainstorm on better ways to effectively communicate and correspond with our factories & vendors. (this should be done by all members of the team in all areas)
  • Work closely with production team members to ensure any changes and/or updates in materials are reflected on all BOMs
  • Communicate technical changes to factory as needed
  • Communicate with factory on BOMs & technical aspects of each style
  • Costing – Ensure accurate costing
  • Ensure all construction meets standards
  • Focus on quality and consistency of products
  • Work internally with design & sales team on exclusives and special upcoming projects.
  • Provide cutting direction
  • Issue Cutting tickets
  • Manage Priorities and Production timelines
  • Create/enforce standards for quality control
  • Work closely with Logistics on shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery to customers
  • Continuously train team on working methods, technical aspects of goods, and communication methods with vendors / interoffice teams

What you'll have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a luxury or contemporary market
  • Previous experience working with Chinese factories
  • Previous experience in the garment industry is a must
  • Expertise with Fashion-related ERP systems a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong communications skills and Time Management skills
  • Must be efficient, organized and detail oriented
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation.
  • Knowledge of garment construction & understanding of patterns.
