Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for the overall production management from order to delivery, to ensure Energy Storage products are delivered by our contract manufacturers on time and with quality standards in accordance to our company requirements. This role will collaborate and work with the various departments, customers, and stakeholders that interface with the manufacturing process and Powin's international contract manufacturing partners.
Job Duties:
Responsible for managing and tracking the production of our contract manufacturing partners to meet production milestones, from received configuration to finished goods delivery
Lead production meetings with CM's to ensure production milestones align with project requirements
Represent manufacturing at the interface of SIOP, manufacturing process change management, and with CM's to optimize new part and product cut-ins with focus to reduce wasted material and labor
Manage the finished goods return and rework process, including initial project management and evaluation of optimal logistics and programming
Develop Project Management Plan and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure project delivery remains on schedule
Act as a liaison with Project Success and the end customer to facilitate and coordinate customer requests, audits, and visits to production facilities
Develop working relationships with CM's within US and internationally
Partner with all stakeholders to identify process interactions, dependencies and implement process improvements
Manage and review root cause analyses in problem resolution and ensure implementation of sustainable improvements
Monitor inventory levels of consignment materials, components, from plan to finished goods to ensure availability for production within both Powin and Contract Manufacturer locations
Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and manufacturing related workflow procedures and policies
Coordinate with R&D, Procurement, Quality, Logistics and other departments and suppliers to ensure efficient project operation and on-time delivery (OTD)
Control the risks in the production cycle and project implementation process, find and solve problems independently both on site and remotely
Proactively look for problems and risks in the production cycle and project implementation process
Coordinate actions and responses to Critical Product Initiatives process
Maintain manufacturing-related KPI (Key Performance Indicators) systems (reporting in Smart Sheet), managing dashboards, reporting and escalation of out of control (OOC) metrics
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Manufacturing or related technical field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of manufacturing industry experience
Energy storage industry experience is preferred, but not required
Experience writing SOP's and policies in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity using project management tools like Smart Sheet and Microsoft Project
Capacity to work cross functionally, explain designs and concepts to others with different backgrounds/degrees
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Strong customer and client service skills
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams
Limited travel requirements to support projects
Experience working with contract manufacturers is preferred
Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, testing methods, tool design and in lean principles/methodologies
Excellent time management skills, including multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, follow up and attention to details
Ability to adaptable to multiple requests, daily changes and still deliver on commitments
