Position Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring the success of entertainment events by managing all technical aspects of lighting, sound and visual designs of venue productions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:includes but not limited to:

  • Ensures the success of entertainment events by managing all technical aspects of lighting, sound and visual designs of venue productions

  • Sets-up sound, lighting, video and staging for all events in the venue

  • Creates visual, sound and lighting content for all shows and private events

  • Expedites repairs of audio amplifiers, outboard equipment and mixing consoles, intelligent lighting fixtures and lighting control consoles, video cameras, outboard equipment and consoles, and all other electronic equipment acquired by the outlet

  • Interacts with visiting performers and production crews with management and team to ensure a successful experience

  • Performs all sound checks

  • Oversees and operates systems pertaining to lighting, audio and video throughout the venue

  • Requests Talent Riders and communicates to the FOH team

  • Performs DJ sets and assists in booking DJ's with the FOH team

  • Creates venue playlists and manages music selection with input from the FOH team

  • Responsible for the pick-up of all production deliveries

  • Oversees equipment lists, lighting plots, sound hook-ups, room layouts, technical cross-rentals, site request lists and scenic designs

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages any and all entertainment productions tasks, as needed

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
Thinks clearly, remains calm and resolves issues using good judgment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Thorough knowledge of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment

Training Requirements:

Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
Must attend all appropriate Human Resources Manager training classes
SMART alcohol awareness

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend and climb for extended periods of time
Must be able to climb wire ladders to operate truss mounted follow spots
Must be able to lift and move all necessary equipment up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with frequent interruptions
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
