Monitor and control the manufacturing process and lead a shift of exempt and non-

exempt employees through the daily activities found in an operations environment.


  • Develop frontline management team in areas of technical job skills and employee


  • Develop individuals to meet all the qualifications as outlined by the Production

Supervisor Technical Training Manual.

  • Closely monitor and assure that efficiency, material usage and other Key

Performance Indicators are achieved daily.

  • Schedule all workload requirements by working closely with internal customer

groups to maintain high customer service levels.

  • Insure that necessary resources are available to meet operational goals and

objectives (manpower, equipment, etc.).

  • Insure all quality, safety, and regulatory guidelines are met and enforced on a

daily basis.

  • Work closely with other groups to implement best practices and cost savings.

  • Maintain proper spending as outlined in departmental budgets.

  • Evaluate the current and future needs of the business and the departmental

ability to meet those needs.

  • Effectively communicate all necessary information regarding policies,

performance and direction.

  • Acts as Duty Executive when required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent experience

  • Minimum five (5) years manufacturing experience including two (2) years in a

supervisory role.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.

  • Must demonstrate a desire and a strong ability to lead people.

About you Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Engineer position in Bristol, PA. As a Senior Production Engineer you serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low-cost, high-quality products. This role requires a broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. Also, you can complete each of the following tasks: * Understand all applicable process technology, chemistry, equipment and control systems for areas of responsibility * Maintain, own, and review daily KPIs, asset utilization data and process trends to ensure optimum performance * Act as an area technical expert during unplanned events, assist operations with advanced troubleshooting, coach others to learn these skills, and ensure lessons learned are included in plant operating discipline/operating procedures * Drive effective root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventative actions * Work with Reliability Engineers, Technical Engineers, Technical Advisors, Operations, Logistics and Maintenance personnel to optimize operations * Ensures Most Effective Technology is understood and utilized and that process automation is used to optimize plant performance * Initiate and manage changes to plant operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date; Support other plant roles in procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates and approvals as required * Demonstrate a commitment to EHS excellence by following the Management of Change process, performing Behavior Based Performance observations and interventions, completing routine plant inspections, reviewing EHS incidents with department personnel * Ensure compliance with facility environmental permits and Dow Process Safety Principles * Work with Business Team, Technical Center partners and Subject Matter Experts to optimize long-term plant production capability Required qualifications * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering * A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role in a chemical/manufacturing plant * Must be able to be on-call during non-working hours Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: * Traverse indoor and outdoor production areas while wearing plant minimum PPE Your preferred qualifications include: * Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include: * Six Sigma/Green Belt Project Leader training * Root Cause Investigation/team leading experience * DeltaV Control System experience * Demonstrating competencies in the areas of: leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness Additional notes * Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role and may be provided based on eligibility. * No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process . * Dow is making preparations in response to the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS).
