Hexcel is currently seeking a Production Manager of Advanced Materials and Composites for our Amesbury, MA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Accountable for management and performance of direct and indirect factory team members.

  • Will foster a positive work environment and drive engagement within the team by communicating goals and expectations, removing barriers to team and individual success, and providing feedback through various methods including factory performance metrics and individual performance reviews.

  • Accountable for mentoring, coaching and training of team members including regular feedback and communication, developing and updating training plans, identifying training and skill gaps, maintaining training records and communicating training matrices to encourage employee engagement.

  • Will proactively align resources to meet the current and future demands of our customers by identifying direct and indirect resource needs, coordinating overtime and time-off requests.

  • Responsible for developing and meeting financial budget for the focus factory including production forecasts, headcount requirements, expenses and capital expenditure needs.

  • Accountable for meeting key metrics including customer on time delivery, quality and service levels, safety metrics and continuous improvement targets.Will develop, implement and maintain methods of data collection, tracking, reporting and communication of specific factory goals that may include utilization, efficiency, first pass yield (OEE), material and labor variances.

  • Will identify and communicate with the appropriate Sales and Management team members any risks to customer demands or financial plans.Will maintain and communicate risk matrices and mitigation plans with respect to personnel and equipment resources, safety, quality, process and material issues.

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement activities that support safety, cost reductions, quality and production goals using a data driven approach.

  • Optimize production performance by managing and executing the production forecast and schedule while collaborating with cross-functional team members and managing resources and priorities within the factory.

  • Promote the advancement of our safety culture by leading EHS initiatives within the factory and support the Quality Management System (Prevent, investigate, resolve and correct internal and external non-conformances. Follow all quality policies and requirements for areas of responsibility).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of production experience.

  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office suite.

  • Must have ERP/MRP experience; Microsoft AX knowledge is preferred.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement techniques; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

  • Strong problem solving, facilitation and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • This is an on-site role; regular daily attendance on company premises is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
