Job Summary

Summary:
As a Production Manager III, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef and/or the Director of Dining Services with the overall success of the food service operation. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized, enthusiastic and detail-oriented manager who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of production employees in order to prepare and deliver a finished food product to the serving areas in an efficient, timely and proper manner.

  • Oversees kitchen operation while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment for the staff.

  • Prepares or directs preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of culinary management experience.

  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

  • Catering and/or high volume batch cooking experience is required.

  • Experience ordering food and supplies is required.

  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.

  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 8/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-20T00:00 Job Description Responsible for the treatment of drinking water for one of the City of Denton's water treatment plants, which includes ensuring finished water quality meets regulatory guidelines and that there is adequate water to maintain water distribution system pressure and fire flow requirements. Also responsible for the maintenance of the water treatment plant's equipment, to include: pumps, motors, mixers, basins, tanks, piping, buildings, electrical systems, etc. In addition to the treatment plant, this position will be responsible for the raw water pump station associated with the water treatment plant and booster pump station(s), elevated water tower(s), and related buildings and grounds. Essential Functions * Supervises the operation and maintenance of the treatment process and equipment according to federal, state and Water Production Department standards * Supervises and develops operations and maintenance staff to include interviewing prospective employees, allocating/guiding work, training, conducting performance reviews and recommending transfers, promotions and/or terminations * Monitors, manages, develops and maintains records of staff safety program and chemical response/action plans as needed to comply with State and Federal regulations * Improves the treatment process throughout the water treatment plant including, chemical usage and power consumption, by reviewing operating records and modifying processes and procedures to drive cost effective and compliant operation of the water treatment plant * Works with the other Plant Manager to coordinate water quality and distribution system operations in a controlled manner and promote cross training for staff between the two water treatment plants * Coordinates with the Water Production Operations and Maintenance Foremen in identifying areas for improvement and recommends changes and improvements to the Water Production Superintendent * Coordinates with other managers and supervisors such as the Water Utilities Electrical/Electronic Tech Manager and the SCADA/Regulatory Supervisor to ensure the water treatment plant SCADA system is operating as intended, the plant is in compliance with State and Federal Rules and Regulations and all electrical systems are in good working order * Coordinates with the Plant Superintendent, the Utility Engineering staff and Consultants in identifying, designing, constructing and starting-up of capital improvement projects * Performs inspections of facilities weekly to verify quality control for all aspects of the system * Develops and manages annual budget and capital control projects * Maintains records on plant operations and maintenance by using the City of Denton's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) * Produces reports to outline status of processes, equipment and staff * Attends update meetings as required to keep self and others up to date with the water treatment plant requirements and needs * Performs review of plans and documents and provides feedback to Project Managers and Consultants in order to improve the design of facility upgrade projects. * Drives to other City facilities as needed Additional Duties: * Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications * High School diploma or GED equivalent. Education equivalent to at least two years of college / or 5 years work in related field with specialization in water treatment, chemistry, engineering, science, or biology AND * Five years' experience in a supervisory role for a municipal water treatment plant AND * Grade "A" Water License from TCEQ OR * Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job Core Competencies: * Ability to maintain the plant operating within the applicable standards and guidelines and keep the equipment properly maintained within budget constraints * Ability to schedule and coordinate the work of subordinate employees * Ability to work with the other Plant Manager on how each plant will produce water and pump it into the distribution system * Ability to delegate work to the Foreman and to properly follow-up and inspect work Conditions of Employment * Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment * Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, and criminal history background check * Must pass a physical examination Preferences: * Bilingual in Spanish and English * Preference will be given to candidates proficient with spreadsheet, graphical, and database software City Of Denton Denton TX
