What you will be doing:

  • Plans and oversees production schedules and departmental workflows to establish sequence and lead time of each production operation to meet shipping dates according to budgeted expenses, quality requirements, sales forecasts and/or customer orders. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedule to meet unforeseen conditions. Analyzes production requirements and capacity to determine required resources and processes.

  • Manages production assembly, other production functions and machinery to ensure safety, product quality and process efficiency. Ensures that materials and resources are in place to meet production goals, maximize facility utilization and eliminate production delays.

  • Identifies and implements opportunities to increase productivity, quality and cost efficiency by continuously evaluating efficiencies/accomplishments against goals. Identifies opportunities to develop best practices and successfully integrates them into practice.

  • Reviews production and operating results and reports to identify issues and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Contributes to the annual cost savings initiatives by identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities.

  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and ensure compliance with standards.

  • Leads important projects from conception through completion utilizing internal and external resources. Identifies success criteria and develops plans to meet objectives. Supports new product development and launches processes by contributing with new ideas and driving to meet the established timetable.

  • Promotes teamwork, empowerment and involvement to drive efficiencies in decision-making and to build team/individual confidence. Develop effective communication channels with and within team, varying shifts and other departments to empower teams with the necessary information.

  • May be responsible for overseeing the warehouse, shipping and receiving functions (Varies based on business unit).

  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes but is not limited to the following: hiring and terminating employees, promotions/pay adjustments, staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee concerns and disciplinary counseling.

  • Manages the departments operating, capital and expense budgets.

  • Develops and revises departmental policies, procedures and guidelines to meet business needs.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

What you will need to succeed:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of five years experiencing supervising productions within a manufacturing environment and operations experience.

  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite or similar products. Proficiency in using an ERP system.

  • Advanced level of mechanical knowledge and problem solving expertise.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Skills in to delivering effective performance feedback to motivate individual contributions

  • Excellent knowledge of operations, production processes and equipment. Skills in and knowledge of analyzing production processes to improve efficiencies and quality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to identify actionable business critical goals and convert into action-oriented initiatives.

  • Some travel may be required depending on business unit requirements.
