We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager, Emulsion Polymerization to join our organization's local production operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader. Our production facility is a fast-paced environment and the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. In this role you will support the operations leadership team by assuring that the assigned production department is operated in the most profitable and efficient basis through proper utilization of assigned manpower, materials, equipment and space.

  • Collaborate with the Unit Manager to organize production departments, set operational objectives, and manage budgetary requirements related to emulsion polymerization processes.

  • Develop medium to long-term production plans for emulsion polymerization, ensuring efficient scheduling, execution, and control of production activities.

  • Supervise the functionality and performance of emulsion polymerization plants, driving continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Technology/Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance teams.

  • Implement and maintain Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems, adhering to regulatory standards and internal procedures specific to emulsion polymerization processes.

  • Involved in implementation of engineer projects and industrial trials.

  • Champion elements of the site's PSM program such as training, SOPs.

  • Responsible to hire, train, evaluate, assess, reward, discipline, and terminate assigned employees in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations to insure maximum competency and operational efficiencies.

  • Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in managing emulsion polymerization processes within chemical manufacturing environments, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • In-depth knowledge of emulsion polymerization principles, including polymerization kinetics, emulsion stability, and scale-up considerations.

  • Experience in scaling up emulsion polymerization processes from laboratory to industrial scale is highly desirable.

  • Prior exposure to safety protocols and risk management practices specific to polymerization processes will be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a history of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Use Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and the Internet, if required.

  • Delta V control system knowledge is a plus.
