The Production Manager is responsible for streamlining manufacturing operations across the value-stream by balancing material supply, equipment and workforce. In each of the three areas, the manager is expected to understand the key constraints and gaps, in order to develop and execute a clear improvement plan working with stakeholders across the organization. There will also be a strong emphasis on cost and lead time reduction, which will mean a 'right the first time' mindset in production. The safety of employees and temps is paramount, so the Production Manager will have to drive best-practices in terms of engagement and participation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility for this role is drive continuous improvement in product delivery value-stream, by making sure equipment, people and material is used in an efficient and productive fashion. This will require focusing on a number of areas such as bottlenecks, operator skillset, load balancing and use of Lean Manufacturing principles. This should be done in a manner that creates an energized workforce with high morale and low turnover.
The secondary responsibility for this role is the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations, measured by on-time delivery, late sales order backlog, scrap and rework, safety, quality, delivery, inventory, manufacturing variance and overtime.
The Production Manager will be a key enabler in changing the Plant Operations from a reactive way of executing, to being Proactive, Lean, Cash Flow and Cost efficient.
Responsible for hiring and maintaining a high performing team, including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Regularly and visibly leads at daily management and in Kaizen events to get business results
Charismatic in nature and able to create followership in team environments.
Works with plant management and functional managers on developing policy deployment action plans and helps coordinate Kaizen funnel to support
Drives skill advancement with DBS training matrix for site growth
Devises monthly, weekly, and daily schedules and communicates job assignments to other manufacturing associates including supervisors, leads, and cell personnel
Leads the performance review assessment and development plan strategy for the manufacturing associates
Manages the customer Master Build Plan activities for the cell product lines including:
Estimate Ship Dates for Open Orders and way to improve so we minimize late shipments
Understand total inventory and WIP so we don't buffer with a lot of inventory
Reduce unfavorable workorder variance by understanding and tackling the root caused such as lack of clear work instructions, operator proficiency etc.
FG shipment commitment dates
Critical stock out communication
Work order prioritization and scheduling
Responsible for material presentation continuous improvement
Designs and implements standard processes to create flow within the cell
Maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), training records, and other documentation as needed within operations
Adhere to all safety standards on the manufacturing floor
Develops employees directly reporting to, as well as influencing others, with lean tools
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Four Year College Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain
3+ years of relevant experience in a lead role, overseeing the day to day job activities of 10+ team members. Experience managing hourly workforce a plus.
Excellent analytical aptitude including statistical analysis
Strong communication in English (Reading, writing, and verbal)
Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
Self-driven nature to solve day-to-day problems and solve long-term problems
Ability to act independently and make the appropriate decisions with minimal supervision as necessary
Ability to follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the Supervisor and management
Ability to meet daily production goals in regard to Safety, Quality, and Productivity
2-4 years of manufacturing/production leadership experience
Experience with completing Oracle Manufacturing transactions or similar system
