Responsibilities

Responsible for technical operations and oversight of fiscal activities for all College of Music (CoM) performance venues and production areas:

  • Working directly with staff in the audio, video, and staging units, reviews technical riders for performances and advises on feasibility to include availability of equipment, staffing, and other production elements.

  • Provides support to the Director of Production as needed and works closely with the CoM Fiscal Office to manage operational, financial, and personnel functions of all performance venues.

  • Interpreting technical riders and specifications in conjunction with Director of Production, assembles estimates for all events and other production information as needed for consideration by the Director of Production.

  • Coordinates with performance venue managers and production staff regarding event logistics and facilitates communication among performance groups and technical contractors.

  • Oversees scheduling of internal and external rental activities as required for events with other technical staff.

  • Ensures prompt payment of appropriate rental fees to vendors.

  • Coordinates fiscal-related activities for College of Music (CoM) performance venues. In conjunction with Assistant Dean for F&A, Sr. Accounting Specialist, and Director of Production, develops and implements auxiliary rates, internal expense & personnel budgets, and revenue projections.

  • Monitors expense and revenue budgets for all performance hall auxiliaries and makes recommendations. Assists in completion of financial reporting.

  • Serves as key contributor to the development and oversight of the billing systems utilized by CoM performance venues.

  • Works closely with the CoM Fiscal Office to facilitate departmental transactions. Serves as a PCard and TCard holder on behalf of Production.

  • Serves as PCard Proxy for the AV Specialist, Stage Specialist, and Technicians.

  • Monitors supplies inventory and places orders as needed.

  • Serves as travel representative for production staff.

  • Creates requisitions and maintains purchase orders, facilitates entry of supplier information, submits receipts, and monitors procurement activities for all production and performance halls projects.

  • Ensures compliance with all university procurement and travel policies.

  • Assists in maintaining roster of returning and newly recruited OPS employees serving as stage crew and/or front of house staff on an ongoing basis.

  • Compiles information regarding part-time hours and payroll information and advises as needed regarding auxiliary expenditures.

  • Reconciles actual charges with final invoices.

  • Consults with Fiscal Offices as needed to ensure accuracy of funding, available budget, and continuity of appointments as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to cultural arts services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.

  • Education and/or professional experience in music or a related area.

  • Ability to successfully prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

  • Experience working effectively under pressure or in a fast-paced environment.

Anticipated Salary Range

Low to mid $50,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
