Wenger Corporation is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and motivate a team of production team members to achieve a safe work environment and the efficient running of our operations. This role will execute upon the manufacturing plan by utilizing available resources, labor, materials, support, and capital to optimize production. In this position you would emphasize improved safety, higher quality, lower cost, and better delivery by developing improved product flow, production / inventory / capacity planning, process reliability, waste elimination, and individual / organizational development consistent with the strategic plan.
As a Production Manager a typical day might include:
Ensuring timely completion of work and advising the organization of departmental status including equipment problems, process problems, and employee performance issues
Managing labor resources to ensure that an appropriate quantity and skill level are available through selection, training, and personnel development
Supporting daily continuous process improvement and waste elimination to enhance our competitive edge through maintaining Gemba board metrics / Paretos and identifying and leading improvements in the areas of responsibility
Improving safety performance by maintaining safety system compliance and 5S realization
Leading team to comply with ISO certification requirements and guarantee quality system conformance
Driving machine reliability by ensuring the preventative maintenance system is executed and maintained
Improving inventory performance with best practices and implementing reliable inventory systems
Supporting development of annual budgets and executing plans to meet the productivity goal of the organization
Managing key projects to fulfill strategic objectives
Supporting product teams with improving products and processes to increase customer satisfaction and profitability
This job might be for you if you have:
Three to five (3-5) years proven manufacturing experience
Three (3) years management or leadership experience
Experience in lean manufacturing environment
Proven commitment to change and continuous improvement
Strong ability to communicate verbally and in written form
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict
Strong computer skills (business system, email, spreadsheet and word processing)
Experience with ERP systems and product flow
Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and layouts
