JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for prepping machines for shift start up and/or product change; operating equipment to produce various types and sizes of manufactured products while ensuring quality and production goals are met; performing troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
Support supervisor in overseeing and coordinating the work of all production employees on assigned production line(s)
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Leadership
Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership through training and developing other team members. This may require temporary assignment to other shifts.
Assist in developing and maintaining training procedures.
Responsible for the overall production performance of specific production line(s) including safety, quality, and productivity.
Fills in for supervisors as needed.
Production
Proficient in all operator 1, 2, 3 & 4 job description requirements.
Relieves operators as needed.
Ability to change over and operate all auxiliary equipment required for manufacturing processes.
Monitors the operations of the processing equipment to ensure production efficiency is maintained with no supervision
Ability to use measuring equipment to ensure all quality specifications are maintained.
Able to operate any material handling and processing equipment required for production and/or replenishment of raw materials.
Utilize shop floor management system to update CIP boards when necessary
Ability to trouble shoot basic machine malfunctions with controls on equipment
Ability to assist with tooling and die changes
Communicates with technicians to help with equipment and assist with root cause analysis pertaining to the production process
Able to perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
Supply Raw Material
Visually checks work stations to determine if supplies are getting low; pulls supplies from designated stocking areas.
Transports materials to and from workstations utilizing necessary material handling equipment
Notifies supervisor and/or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels.
Proficient in identifying the difference in raw material types and part numbers.
Able to identify materials required by reviewing bill of materials and can effectively communicate any shortages
Quality and Testing
Tests and inspects the produced products to ensure they meet all quality specifications.
Report when products are outside of the specifications to proper supervision and/or quality personnel
Perform non-conforming product procedures when necessary
Isolates and/or rework items that do not meet specifications or quality standards.
Ability to input accurate data into quality control system
Ability to identify raw materials that do not meet quality requirements

Special Job Dimensions
May be required to work different shifts as needed.
May be required to wear assorted PPE for designated work area.
Equipment
Only use equipment that is in good repair
Report any equipment hazards immediately to your manager
Job duties as they relate to Hazardous waste.
Place hazardous waste in satellite accumulation containers.
Move hazardous waste containers to the appropriate accumulation area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic
Good manual dexterity skills, working with very small parts
Ability to perform repetitive functions
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, and/or drawings

Knowledge of basic functions in Microsoft office suite
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
High School diploma/equivalent
1 - 2 years of related manufacturing experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
