Georgia-Pacific is looking for Production Laborers for our Toledo, OR mill. These entry-level positions create value by supporting production efficiency in the mill - assisting paper machine operators during standard and upset conditions, maintaining a clean work environment, monitoring supply demands, and learning multiple operating functions in order to operate equipment to expected performance levels and become proficient enough to move into those roles when they become available.

Candidates must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (2 days) and 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. (2 nights).

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Assisting machine operators as directed during standard operating conditions and machine downtime

  • Removing and installing wires, press felts, dryer felts, and conveyor felts

  • Providing coverage for operators during absences or trainings

  • Driving forklifts and skid steer loaders to move material throughout the production floor

  • General housekeeping duties throughout the production floor

  • Obtaining supplies from the storeroom and machine shop for paper machines

  • Filling liquefied petroleum gas tanks for mobile equipment

  • Safely and efficiently working in a fast-paced environment

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Willing and able to work a twelve (12) hour rotating shift, that includes weekends, holidays and overtime, as needed

  • Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, humid, noisy, industrial environment

  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling for at least twelve (12) hours a day

  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Experience using a computer

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, military, construction, fishing or logging environment within the last 10 years

  • One (1) year or more of experience in the pulp and paper industry
