POSITION PROFILE

Support manufacturing through the dispatch of executable schedules to the shop floor and accurate management of inventory.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Release a full, executable daily bucket of work to the floor on schedule

  • Communicate part shortage needs upstream to appropriate Supervisors, Leads, Managers or Planners

  • Identify potential part inventory issues ahead of time. Have inventory verified and adjusted immediately if necessary to prevent missed orders

  • Process scrap transactions immediately and notify appropriate Supervisor, Lead, Manager or Planner of parts needing to be expedited

  • Manage any past due orders daily and work with coordinators and leads for completion

  • Look at the load daily for required completion and flag potential concerns for completion

  • Work with manufacturing closely to execute the daily completion target

  • Support manufacturing as needed, including scheduled overtime

  • Maintain a floor presence and work closely with team leads to monitor and assist with daily schedule completion

  • Identify, communicate and help complete quick ship hot orders as needed daily

  • Monitor negative floor stock items daily and adjust inventory as needed after counts are taken

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining schedules and orders to ensure the correct products are flowing throughout manufacturing process in a seamless flow. Perform various tasks on JDE computer system - e.g. parts availability, weekly schedule, daily schedules, BOM, shortage reports, releasing tickets to manufacturing. Use computer in scheduling and material availability

  • May be required to work different work schedules or shifts at times to support the plant

  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of the actual jobs within the plant, and what product flows through those areas

  • Recommend/communicate productivity, quality, safety, and cost improvements

  • Encourage associates to bring up improvement ideas and be involved in helping to address/implement them

  • Assist in developing new methods of communicating manufacturing information to individual manufacturing work centers, continually emphasizing efficiency and simplicity

  • May be required to work during physical inventory

  • Willing and able to lead a team through a project successfully to implementation, follow through and sustainment

Required Experience

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be willing and able to facilitate a team through a project successfully

  • Must have basic computer skills and understand JDE

  • Must have working knowledge of WO's verses WA's and flow of parts and work orders in the plant

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of product and parts that are produced at all levels of manufacturing

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, principles, and tools preferred
