JOB PURPOSE:

In collaboration with the Quality/Compliance department, the Production Floor Supervisor oversees our swing shift manufacturing operations in Fermentation, Packaging, Warehouse and Maintenance. This role is responsible for coordinating technicians' and operators' activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing production processes to meet organizational goals.

The typical schedule for swing shift is:

Monday

  • Thursday (4/10s): 3:30pm

  • 2:30am

In May, in order to meet production needs, we have adjusted our swing shift to 5pm-5:30am

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with department leaders to drive company initiatives.

  • Accountable for completion of all swing shift start-up, shut-down and cleaning/CIP processes and setting up the next shift for success.

  • Accountable for the accurate and timely completion and submission of batch tickets, ERP processing and end of shift/day reporting.

  • Ensures adherence to all compliance to all regulatory standards including GMP, PPE and SOPs for a food grade facility.

  • Monitors production metrics, responds to and proactively works to resolves issues.

  • Reviews production data to help identify trends and helps to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all production processes.

  • Contributes to the planning and directing of an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials.

  • Conducts regular shift and safety meetings.

  • Proactively engaged with initiatives and plans within all operational departments.

  • Responsible for directing and supporting the training activities for swing shift employees..

  • Collaborate and resolve workforce or staffing issues.

  • Support operations department leaders with performance and development opportunities for all swing shift direct and indirect reports.

COMPENSATION:

Wages: The starting wage for this role depends on your previous experience and start at $73,000. More opportunities for wage increases are also associated with company performance bonuses, individual performance reviews, and promotional opportunities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED is required. A degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and at least 1 year in a leadership capacity is required.

  • Experience in basic manufacturing protocols/operations and sanitization is required. Experience in food or beverage manufacturing/operations is preferred.

  • Strong communication & organization skills.

  • Must be skilled at troubleshooting, finding solutions and process improvement.

  • Must be able to build and foster interpersonal relationships with cross-functional team members.

  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and react well under pressure.

  • Forklift certified, or ability to obtain within first 60 days is required.

  • Chemical trained or ability to obtain within first 60 days is required.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude, including skills with hand tools and operating machine tools is strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in the basic computer skills; spreadsheets, email & word processing. Google Suite experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May need to work on days, nights, weekends, holidays as dictated by business needs.

  • Primary shift is evenings, and schedule could include days or nights too.

  • May be exposed to acids, caustics and cleaning products.

  • Noisy and active production floor

  • Possibility of repetitive tasks in production setting in a cool/warm/moist/humid environment.

  • Ability to handle pallets that weigh up to 2,100 lbs using a pallet jack.

  • Some office work required
