Production First Line Supervisor

Chemours is seeking a Production First Line Shift Supervisor to join our growing Operations team! This position will report directly to the Operations Manager in our Louisville, KY location.

The role of the Production First Line Shift Supervisor is to support and develop the Operations Shift Teams, focus efforts and promote continuous improvement, and be a leader of change. This position requires the ability to coach the Operations Shift Teams in the continuous improvement of teamwork, accountability and overall development of Shift Teams and individuals. The Shift Team Coach needs to understand and interpret the business objectives and transfer that information to the Operations Team to accomplish daily tasks. This function includes driving continuous improvement in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Morale, and Cost.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drives consistent operating standards and operating discipline across all shifts.

  • Drive SHE improvement activities through Operations as required.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities. Organize and participate in problem solving teams and other improvement initiatives.

  • Perform line walks and audits of day-to-day managing systems. Ensure that standardized work is being followed. Share metrics and expectations with shift teams. Ensure that improvement opportunities are identified and managed through the appropriate process.

  • Respond to personnel issues. Communicate and foster teamwork among various plant functions. Motivate personnel through recognition and celebrating successes among team members.

  • Educate/train/coach Operators to ensure understanding and compliance.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Manufacturing Experience preferred

  • Minimum High School Diploma

  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.

  • High Hazard Process experience preferred

  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • SAP experience

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing methodologies, and Six Sigma methodologies

  • Six Sigma certification

  • Five years of management experience
