Job Overview and Responsibilites

The Production Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and support to ensure that currently defined processes meet or exceed work cell's target in terms of SHE, quality, productivity and cost. Lead incremental improvements initiatives to optimize existing processes through Productivity Area Improvement Team.

Responsibilities

Day To Day Operations

  • Establish and maintain control of process metrics and data such as cycle time, productivity, uptime, yields, etc. to ensure existing processes are in control

  • Provide direct engineering support to production to ensure that product is running within SOP/PCD and to the desired quality standards.

  • As required for certain lines or product families utilize tools such as SPC to monitor and take action whenever an out of control condition is identified that is not rectified through SOPs or other standard work.

  • Establish and maintain control of process metrics to ensure processes are in control

  • Plays lead technical role to ensure that process safety obligations are met include maintaining of safety file, lead/participate in PHAs and MHAs, PCAT, MOCs, PSSR's etc.

  • Participate in visible safety leadership activities.

  • Fill in as relief for Production Area Leader as needed

  • Provide technical support and collaborates with Quality Engineers, Process Engineers and work cell team to respond to all customer issues, quality escapes and other systemic quality issues.

  • Maintain, develop and update all control documents such as SOP's, MSOP's, WI's, recipes, visual Inspection, etc.

  • Maintain and manage router effectiveness metric, BOMs, routers, scrap, yield, and other aspects of product configuration

  • Liaise with project / GEO engineers to implement new capital project in production area.

Training

  • Coaches and supports employees in lean and six sigma principles and methodology. Ensure that operators have the background knowledge in these principles in order that they can effectively engage with the Area Improvement Team.

  • Teach workout lite process through Area Improvement Team activities.

Performance

  • Maintains SOP's, BOM's and routers to an acceptable level in order that the operation runs to plan while minimizing quality issues.

  • Ensures productivity metrics such as uptime and throughput are visible on the shop floor and deviations to standard are being actioned.

  • Ensures that router timings are correct to real running conditions in order that OTIF is maximized. Will be measured via the router effectiveness metric.

Improvement

  • Facilitates and leads Productivity Area Improvement Team in continuous improvement activities through the use of lean and various engagement tools (including kaizen, workout, 6S, etc.)

  • Lead execution of incremental process improvements (e.g. waste and First-time-Right) by actively engaging horizontally, vertically with all levels

  • Take corrective action to address process deviations and identify root cause to prevent recurrence

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors of Sciences Engineering

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred

Work History & Experience

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years manufacturing experience

  • Lead a team to accomplish significant goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability to independently or collaboratively solve a complex problem

VIEW JOBS 1/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-09T00:00 Scope: A Plating Operator is actively involved in various processes within the plating department to include etching, stripping and oxidizing PCB panels. Must maintain the work area in a safe environment while working with chemical processes and using high speed pressure equipment. Must meet or exceed output targets by understanding the product flow and handling procedures within the department. A Plating Operator will be exposed to hazardous waste while performing daily job duties. Operators will undergo Chemical Handling training prior to the start of performing these duties and will actively participate in ongoing hazardous waste and chemical handling training. Duties and Responsibilities: * Operate wet process equipment for PCB panel processing through functions which include manual copper plating, solder plating, silver immersion, gold immersion, electroless copper, electrolytic gold, outer layer etching, organic coating, and hot air level processing. * Set and maintain chemical processing equipment within operational parameters * Cautiously load racks in plating tanks while ensuring proper temperature/current of baths * Read blueprints and traveler documents to produce and move products according to customer specifications and to verify that all previous operations were completed * Follow work flow dispatch as required while making allowances for schedule changes in response to Hot Jobs and customer requirements * Immediately report any and all quality issues with panels and chemical baths to supervisor and/or Process Engineers * Assist Process Engineers in running chemical process evaluations * Perform preventative maintenance on all chemical machines * Use all required Personal Protective Equipment * Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately * Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals Essential Knowledge and Skills: * Have a thorough knowledge of process chemistry * Good hand/eye coordination * Ability to lift 40 pounds without straining * Ability to stand throughout entire shift * Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job Education and Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred * Two years experience in the Wet Process department preferable or related chemical environment All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability or protected veteran status.
