Production Engineer - Decatur Corn Plant, Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising and leading the day-to-day operations of the department and supporting Performance Excellence activities and several administrative functions for the department. This position is also responsible for process improvements for production in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception though start-up. The role assists in leading day to day operations, tracking and understanding department costs, yields, quality, process performance and mentoring less experienced colleagues and engineers. A Production Engineer will indirectly lead 10 to 30 hourly colleagues and support the department Superintendent in areas of daily and weekly scheduling, coordination of training, as well as updating standard operating procedures. This position may work with contractor management for the completion of projects within the department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversight of specific processes that may include projects. Project management may require, purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects

  • Lead plant operations to maintain personnel and process safety

  • Recommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment, and safety programs

  • Interacts directly with shift supervision to produce desired operational results and employee development

  • Conducts daily review of paperwork (i.e. operational & Shift Supervisor, quality reports and Production Review).

  • Supports Quality and the Food Safety Management System and possibly as member of that team.

  • Serves as a primary contact for operational, production, and maintenance planning, giving guidance priorities

  • Assist in daily operations including shift coverage as needed

  • Project design, development and management that are specific to the operations

  • Process and cost tracking

  • Participates in employee performance management (i.e., mentorship and discipline)

  • Provide feedback, mentorship and support to operators and engineers to achieve short term and long-term department performance through use of KPI's, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence concepts

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience

  • 5-10 years of plant operations experience preferred

  • 2 - 3 years in direct supervision of people; supervisors experience in a Union environment a plus

  • 5 - 8 years' experience in direct supervisory position preferred

  • Project management experience / background is helpful.

Position Summary: The Manager will play a critical role in ADM's Corporate Finance team with a specific focus on GBS and 1ADM. This role will support ADM's strategy execution by providing leadership in executing GBS's global consolidated annual operating planning, forecasting and analysis activities while helping the GBS leadership team identify opportunities and corrective actions to meet financial and non-financial targets. The role will also provide insightful analysis and decision support by delivering timely, accurate and relevant data and information to the GBS leadership team to help drive performance across the organization. Job Responsibilities: * Develop and lead annual GBS Financial Planning & Analysis processes in the record-to-report process catalog * Coordinate preparation and consolidation of annual plan, monthly forecasts, key performance measures, and performance reporting to GBS and finance executives * Participate in the annual planning, forecasting, and reporting efforts for 1ADM * Participate and demonstrate leadership in cross-functional efforts within Finance to continually improve reporting, forecasting, planning, and analysis processes. * Define, design and create driver-based planning and forecasting models and align models to monthly actuals management reporting. * Develop and present financial plans, projections, and ad hoc analysis requests to senior management. * Work with relevant business partners to provide instructions and direction into financial forecasts and plan requirements, including insights and opportunities for improvement. * Ability to influence others within a matrix environment including senior management. * Ability to lead, monitor, and manage several existing projects with tight deadlines using project management skills and techniques. Required Skills: * Advanced Financial Analysis * Advanced knowledge of Management Reporting * Advanced knowledge of budgeting, long range planning and forecasting * Accounting knowledge and external reporting acumen * Designing Queries and Reports using Financial Systems * Business Analysis & System design/implementation * Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
