This position will provide leadership with a technical and engineering focus to support the manufacturing operation through the collection and analysis of production performance data. This position will consult with stakeholders on process deviations and trends and will lead the effort to deliver results focused on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement. This position will also be responsible for planning and executing on base capital projects that are identified through continuous improvement efforts.
50% Responsible for leading plant daily continuous improvement activities. Uses SAP and other tools to gather plant performance information. Reviews, analyzes, and acts on trends and excursions identified in the plant performance data. Develops or implements new tools to increase tracking and monitoring efficiencies. Works closely with production management and hourly operators to execute on improvement opportunities identified. Conducts training for all initiatives, projects, or other changes resulting Interfaces with site Manufacturing Engineer to identify and prioritize longer term improvement opportunities. Also coordinates with technical and quality groups as required to achieve goals.
20% Capital and expense project execution. Projects completed in a timely manner, within budget and perform at or above expectations per Cargill's Project Delivery Process and applicable standards. Leads execution of total project life cycle for base capital projects identified through continuous improvement activities. Actively manages scope, commitment submittal, contractor management, and all other elements for safe and timely completion of projects.
20% Participates in safety initiatives at the site. Includes safety aspects into continuous improvement solutions. Champions and reinforces Cargill's behavioral based safety process. Actively participates in Process risks analysis. Participates in procedure development, permit coordination, and safe work plan development for non-routine work. Owns production procedure update process, incorporating feedback from all stakeholders to ensure safe and accurate procedures.

BS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline OR 10 years of experience in a production environment
5 years of experience in an engineering or production leadership role in a production environment.
Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement efforts
Demonstrated experience with plant operations.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems involving multiple technologies
Ability to technically advise and troubleshoot
Ability to coach, influence, and motivate team resulting in high performance, high engagement
7 years in a specialty chemical batch production operation in engineering or leadership roles.
Conducted multiple product scale up, from lab bench to full production
Experience managing capital projects
Advanced education / degree in business (MBA), operations, engineering or another related field.
Advanced training in Lean and or 6 sigma such as Black Belt training.
Previous reliability excellence or stable operations deployment experience
