Metro Media one of the fastest growing digital and print media in the US and Philadelphia is currently seeking a Production Designer in their Philadelphia office. The production designer will take direction well both creatively and practically, and find quick production solutions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with attention to detail and be comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced, team-oriented, deadline specific environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • preparing electronic template files for editorial using pre-established guidelines

  • following specific client placement requests and Metro branding guidelines;

  • Reviewing/approving vendor proofs for content, color and size;

  • Assisting other designers as needed with mockups, sampling, and file preparation;

  • Make critical technical decisions impacting layout of ads in the paper on a daily bases;

  • Design and production of advertising and sales materials; house ads; sales presentations;

  • Strategizing solutions with sales reps; and special events;

  • Applying knowledge of latest materials and print technologies, when placing or reviewing creative for placement/ print;

  • Work closely with a team of editors, photographers, designers, sales staff and marketing departments to deliver expectations to clients and create collateral material for marketing;

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in editing (photo and digital documents), editing (text, not copy editing), Fact-Checking, trafficking, ad design.

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design (or related field)

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

  • Ability to work independently

  • Have a good understanding of advertising layout and layout software

  • General knowledge of trafficking ads

  • Ability to work with a variety of different people including sales staff and editorial

  • Confidence to take on last minute projects

  • Attention to Detail

  • Familiarity with working on servers

  • Ability to follow verbal and written direction

  • Great problem solving skills

  • Program Requirements:

  • Adobe CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Distiller)

  • Classforce or other classified layout software

  • Mac OS, InDesign 5.5, FTP Software, (Fetch, Interarchy, Transmit, Cyberduck)

  • Pre-flight software (Enfocus Pit Stop)

Senior User Experience (UX) Designer As a UX Designer, you will work closely with users and internal stakeholders from around the globe to design responsive products and applications.
