Machine Operator I

Rate: $12.00 -$12.50 Per Hour
Pre-Employment: Criminal Background, Employment and Drug Screen
Must have a HS Diploma or GED
Responsible for operation and proficient understanding of downstream equipment including palletizers, strapping machines, wrapping machines, forklifts, rework, and overall flow of product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production. Communicates production information at shift change.
2.Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shut-down procedures for each machine.
3.Performs minor adjustments to machinery involving hand movements and simple hand tools to ensure smooth, continued machine operation.
4.Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate safety, quality, machine problems, and breakdowns to Production Lead, Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
5.Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop production due to quality issues.
6.Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals. Reports daily on Master Cleaning Schedule.
7.Fork lift operator certified and when assigned to forklift operation a) perform daily safety and operational checks and, b) operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
8.Move finished product with a forklift from the production area by a) unloading, moving and storing incoming materials and, b) checking identification, reporting shortages or damaged materials, storing stacking and arranging material for first in /first out usage.
9.Operates the palletizers, other production machines, and forklift.
