Summary:
The Production Coordinator II located in Michigan City, IN reports to our Plant Manager and is responsible for scheduling production and shipping activities by utilizing material availability reports, communication with customer service, and the Consult Factory function to ensure OTS and Lead Time targets are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate Open Orders reports and IP list to develop the production schedule with a goal of 100% on-time delivery. Execute production to plan and notify the Production Supervisor(s) about issues needing to be addressed that impede this goal.
Review production requirements and recommend increases/decreases in staffing levels as well as planned overtime.
Schedule effectively to minimize changeovers and maximize efficiency.
Expected to review material availability and provide detailed production schedule for each line / work cell.
Resource to stockroom/shipping/receiving personnel by providing guidance and assistance in problem solving. Perform necessary related tasks when personnel are absent.
Makes work cell staffing recommendations to Production Supervisor(s) to achieve production schedule.
Maintain an effective dialogue with all employees to foster good employee morale.
Update CSRs and MRM as needed on order status and ship date changes.
Organize work areas before, during and after assignment. Is responsible for general housekeeping and organization of workstations.
Assists with sustainment audits for all improvement initiatives put in place within the plant.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):
OTS (On Time Shipping) rate of 100%
Lead Times to meet or exceed market expectations
Ensure no IP Discrepancies occur
Maintain stock targets for the plant to achieve goal
Maintains a safe work environment
Requirements
Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:
Must be 18 years of age
Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work in the US issued by the Department of Homeland Security.
Must have a minimum 3-years experience as a Production Coordinator or equivalent experience in manufacturing.
Demonstrated computer skills in spreadsheets, and documents.
Must have knowledge and experience with the company MRP system and policies.
Must be capable of gaining and holding the respect of the employees.
Is required to be trustworthy, confidential and of a compatible personality.
Physical/Mental Essential Functions:
Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Able to read/speak in English and follow verbal/written instructions
Able to effectively communicate in written and oral formats
Able to use computer tools including spreadsheets, documents and email
Able to interact/communicate with respect of fellow co-workers, customers, and management
Able to push/pull, bend at knees, and reach above shoulders
Able to control operation of hands and/or feet
Able to lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
