Position Summary

Work within a collaborative, team-oriented Production Management environment to create, organize, and execute contract compliance elements. Manage and track a high volume of projects, primarily from a financial perspective, communicating any adverse impact of production & delivery changes to all internal stakeholders. Participate in departmental initiatives/taskforces. This position is based in Los Angeles. The position does not offer a relocation package.

Responsibilities
1.Finalize payment schedules and other contract exhibit documentation, obtaining Network Production and Production Management team approval2. Track financial & production elements of originals, co-productions, acquisitions and repackages from inception to delivery and acceptance for all DCI program materials3. Supervise all payments to external producers, monitoring contractual milestones and releasing payments through SAP Project Systems4. Coordinate with Network reps and Production Management teams, providing status of vendors' contractual obligations, to facilitate execution and payment of production contracts 5. Liaise with Finance and Programming on the management of programming cashflow6. Coordinate with Talent Management and Network Production teams to facilitate execution and payment of talent contracts7. Perform any change management tasks related to financials throughout production cycle including, but not limited to, overage documentation & payment processing8. Supervise the review and delivery of program materials for contract compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Media Production experience, at a network or production company

  • Finance or Production Accounting background strongly preferred

  • Solid knowledge of production logistics, rights issues, and current industry standard practices * A self-starter who has the ability to prioritize duties among multiple concurrent projects and across managers

  • Strong project management, interpersonal and writing skills

  • Proficiency with common production & finance applications such as Excel & SAP strongly preferred. Ability to quickly learn Discovery proprietary systems.

  • Candidate must have the ability to work with and maintain confidential information

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

VIEW JOBS 10/5/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-03T00:00 The Lighting Tech Coordinator works with the Arts Education Director and Theater show directors to ensure systematic, proactive, and efficient lighting support is provided for all assigned DPPS Arts productions, including full-scale plays and musicals, smaller arts showcases, concerts, and other events as needed. Who You Are * You hold a deep commitment to empowering arts education, and specifically, the roles that live school performances play in the lives of young people. * You are a strong project manager, able to see the big picture while also sweating details related to lighting and other general tech support. * You are able to work effectively with show directors and other production staff to ensure seamless planning, rehearsal, and execution of lighting design. * You bring maturity, humility, a strong work ethic and a sense of humor to your work. * You have excellent communication (written and oral) and a track record of working collaboratively with others in artistic planning and production settings. * You have the ability to proceed in the absence of clear and immediate answers to problems, are flexible enough to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed. What You'll Do * Remotely and in person, work closely with the members of arts production teams to ensure that lighting tech is planned efficiently for all DPPS Arts events, and supports the artistic goals of the show director/arts teacher. * Assign lighting tech personnel to all DPPS Arts events that request support and are approved by the Arts Ed. Director. * Work as the lighting designer to plan and execute the lighting design for each event. * Transfer tech equipment among schools as needed to ensure each campus has what it needs for upcoming tech rehearsals and events. * Thought-partner with Arts Education director and arts teachers to support in determining tech-related equipment needs in each school. * Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Work Experience * Working knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment including but not limited to how to set up/hang and focus a variety of hanging and standing lights, lightboards, and programming cues in QLab. * Experience working with Theater directors and teams in production settings. * 2-3 years of work experience as a lighting technician preferred. * Basic knowledge of audio tech preferred. * Background check and clearance required. Compensation * Hourly rate is $30/hr. * Annual contract is for 300 hours spread over approximately 11 events (TBD), with a maximum of weekly allotment of 29 hours on any given week.
