Department: Publishing Operations

Your Mission

The Associate Specialist (Hardware Tech) assists in the management of all development hardware assets, including: managing, ordering, tracking, allocating, repairing, auditing and retirement of all game development hardware (debug/development kits). They will act as the build mastering specialist for any HQ media requirements. This includes working with Quality Assurance to ensure that proper processes are in place at HQ.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hardware to developers and production teams, IT, and QA

  • Track hardware in an appropriate system

  • Manage hardware repairs and returns

  • Provide and maintain hardware at onsite and offsite events

  • Obtain evaluate and distribute information about new technology and first-party initiatives

  • Be the first point of contact regarding development software: XDK, first party "neighborhoods", recovery discs, whitelisted profiles, etc.

  • Authoring builds for all gaming platforms

  • Extract or compose source data into raw files or disc images; reverse engineering of builds

  • Media duplication, distribution, and other tasks associated with the creation and verification of masters

  • Creating masters for First-Party submissions or QA archive

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Player Profile

  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science/Entertainment-related area, or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated skills with asset management, game development lifecycle, and problem solving

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment, interfacing with multiple departments throughout an organization

  • Strong working knowledge of most popular console platforms and related peripherals and PC software/hardware

  • Two plus years in the video game industry, preferably in interactive software publishing

  • Willingness to travel

  • Maintain professionalism and composure while working under tight deadlines

Serves as a liaison to various City departments, providing consulting on reactive, proactive, and enhancement support services with primary focus on customer satisfaction. Major Duties Provides technical support and acts as a technology liaison and subject matter expert in support of business specific systems. Collects, analyzes, and documents business requirements for process and customer experience improvements. Defines end-to-end use cases and user stories. Conducts research on emerging information technology products and services to support business needs. Participates in development of technology roadmaps based on business. Establishes and manages relationships and agreements with external service providers. Designs, implements, tests, and supports business software systems and applications. Configures, maintains and updates applicable hardware and software systems, as needed. Monitors activities that support all system setups, configurations, upgrades, and modifications for business software applications per established standards. Implements process and system change activities in adherence to all Department policies and procedures focusing on enhancing system security, reliability, and availability. Monitors, measures and provides feedback on process and system performance. Identifies meaningful KPIs to drive performance improvements and validate services are meeting service level agreements. Documents process workflows, system support materials, knowledge articles, and support self-service capabilities through the Service Portal. Assists with providing individual or group training on business software applications, policies, and procedures, including development of training and procedural guides for end users. Communicates and coordinates during major incidents impacting departments. Adheres to major incident management process and escalation requirements and post-mortem incident reviews and root cause problem identification. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Business Processes and customer experience facilitation techniques including: Lean IT, Voice of the Customer, and Journey Mapping.
