What you'll do
The Production Artist collaborates with Creative team members (Art Director, Designers and Developers) to design and execute creative designs. Manages final art files for release and leads print & digital projects, such as templates, marketing materials, collateral, and digital placement assets. Manages the asset management system to ensure files are categorized and filed correctly, as well as retouches final images (when needed). Leads final checkpoint in the creative design process.
Lead Final Production (Edits & File Prep)
Builds best in class standards for production-ready artwork, ensuring team is building graphics efficiently, consistent, and technically sound.
Creates production-ready files for email, digital and print development, ensuring consistency of design brand guidelines.
Designs various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolves any artwork issues that arise during production.
Establishes process improvements and workflow; Identifies areas that can be streamlined, combined, or require additional help and/or resources.
Collaborates with Proofreader to ensure all necessary edits are made to final master copy.
Packages preflight files for release to printers or media partners
Plays a key role in key press checks to ensure color accuracy (as needed).
Creates PDFs for print review and conducts press checks.
Collaborates with Design leadership to communicate visual personality of brand.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise with both the creative team and the printer.
Manages timelines, ensuring projects are delivered by deadlines and are brand-right.
Manage Image Assets
Manages automation by creating time-saving steps without losing quality.
Updates and maintains digital archive of images on DAM system.
Catalogs and references art for future projects.
Provides image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation.
Prepares images for online and mobile applications.
What you'll need to be successful
Bachelor's degree in Art, Design or related field (Illustrator degree preferred)
3 - 5 years' experience in a Production Design or Production Art role
Strong computer skills and fluency with Mac platform, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience using Adobe Suite Bridge, Lightroom, and Cataloging
Thorough knowledge of MS Office, specifically PowerPoint and Word
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Effectively manage deadlines and maintain flexibility
Strong attention to detail
Creative and imaginative skills
Abreast of the newest, most modern trends in typography, design, photography and color
Strong knowledge of all phases and processes of production from design to print and press ready art
