POSITION: PRODUCTION AND MATERIAL PLANNER
DEPARTMENT SUPPLY CHAIN
REPORTS TO: SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
POSITION SUMMARY: The Production and Material Planner will be responsible for overseeing raw material MRP (Material Requirements Planning) control, utilizing Microsoft software for efficient inventory management, maintaining accurate master data, and ensuring timely fulfillment of supply requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with the Supply Chain Manager, schedules items for production bottling, and specific winery operations opportunities.
Coordinates projections, stock orders, and customer orders to meet the monthly and annual rolling bottling schedules.
Oversees mid-term and long-term production planning activities for the winery to ensure that they are meeting supply requirements and are within defined inventory, shelf-life and capacity limits.
Develops, maintains and reports on a production plan to meet wineries normal demand and seasonal anticipatory inventory build requirements while considering winery capacity levels.
Using forecasted shipments, determines both the short term and long plan production needs for winery operations.
Utilize ERP/ MRP systems to manage production planning, material planning, procurement, and inventory control processes effectively.
Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including production, winemaking, procurement, logistics, and finance to ensure alignment of material planning activities with overall business objectives.
Analyze MRP reports and forecasts to identify potential material shortages or excesses and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize inventory levels.
Maintain accurate master data including bill of materials (BOM), material master records, and supplier information to support efficient production planning and procurement processes.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage forecasting and order placement processes, negotiate pricing, delivery dates, and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery of quality materials.
Drive process improvements and implement best practices in material planning and inventory management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Drive shortage meetings, escalation processes, and supplier performance reviews promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, Materials and Inventory Management preferred.
Strong analytical skills, highly skilled in Excel, CPIM certification a plus
Minimum 3 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience working with ERP/MRP systems for material planning and inventory management preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage supplier relationships and delivery performance.
Ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in material planning and inventory management.
Must have a current California driver's license with the ability to be insured by the company's insurance provider.
Must live within commuting distance to Clarksburg, CA
