To monitor and enhance inventory and production accounting/reporting procedures and maintain proper accounting of finished goods and raw materials inventory. To accurately report and analyze production statistics for processing and whey. To review and maintain documentation around company Weights and Measures policies. Provide data preparation and clerical support to the Fort Morgan Administration team including Plant Controller and Accounting Supervisor.


The position requires an individual with strong organizational skills; the personality to effectively interact with all types and levels of individuals, both internally and externally; plus, the knowledge and skills to work confidently with limited supervision. He/she must possess a strong customer service orientation and the ability to balance multiple priorities. It is critical that the position holder exhibits a high degree of attention to detail in order to ensure that all activities receive proper follow-up and attention in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires the position holder to maintain security and confidentiality of documents and information.

The position reports the plant Accounting Supervisor. No employees report to the position.

The Accounting Clerk must be able to communicate effectively in relaying information to team members, team leads, supervisors, and managers as applicable.

This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan and company policies.


The Accounting Clerk plans and organizes his/her own work referring to team members and manager and others for advice or guidance on unusual problems. The Accounting Clerk must anticipate the requirements of a project in order to complete it in a thorough and efficient manner. Accounting Clerk must analyze daily work requirements and expectations of the position to determine level of importance and the prioritize accordingly.



  • Minimum of 18 years old

  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language

  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climing ladders/ stairs

  • Strong business/operational math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions related to complex production processs

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all applicable safety practices

  • Ability to maintain a clean work area according to Good Manufacturing Processes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience in a high volume, high-urgency clerk, data steward, or accounting position

  • General understanding of General Accounting Principles

  • Experience with SAP

Position Purpose General Production is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are handling all aspects of the animal including but not limited to, processing meat, trimming, verifying quality and accuracy of products, packaging, weighing and boxing, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities. While performing the duties of General Production, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility. Principal Accountabilities Perform repetitive tasks.
