We are seeking Finished Goods Testing Specialists for 3rd Shift. Finished Good Testing Specialists use standardized procedures to sample, analyze, measure, and test the product. Record results to assist in the qualification and release approval processes used for the product.

Hours: 10pm - 8:30am

Job Responsibilities:

  • Confer with management regarding appropriate daily assignments.
  • Perform ASTM D92 Cleveland Open Cup Flash Point Analysis.
  • Operate a K-Type Thermocouple thermometer and/or Infrared Thermometer Gun.
  • Perform candle burn evaluation and wick optimization by trimming wicks to lighting candles documenting date and start time, blowing out candles, notifying Burn Lab Manager of any abnormalities.
  • Perform mathematical calculations for analysis and reports for finished goods release.
  • Perform raw material validation testing.
  • Operate a digital camera and photography editing software to document test results in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized lab facility with proper care/storage of equipment and tools, and routine cleaning including countertops, cabinets, floors, filters and burn lab equipment.
  • Maintain lab safety practices and policies.
  • Receive and log in samples into lab database.
  • Maintain sample retain program.
  • Disposition of expired materials.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned that are not listed above.

Rate: $14.75/hr

Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Knowledge of using MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat software and MS Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, flames, fumes or airborne particles, with a temperature variation between 65oF and 90oF. The employee may be occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
