Manage the manufacturing and converting operations associated with the Kimberly-Clark Professional (KCP) Product System at Mobile and serve as primary contact for Mobile Operations to the KCP business. The KCP Product System manufactures SCOTT Tissue, Multifold Towels and Tissues and other commercial products for the KCP business. Incumbent reports to the Mill Manager. This role is responsible to effectively lead business objectives for the operations area for high-capacity and technically complex manufacturing processes. As a member of the leadership team, the Product System Leader will help develop strategic direction for the facility. This role will collaborate and influence across business functions (Examples: R&E, marketing, sales, logistics) and opportunities for involvement in broad based business projects. The PSL determines the objectives that typically are focused at the mill level for safety, quality, GMP, housekeeping/5S, customer service, continuous improvement, productivity, cost, internal control, asset management, human resources and team capability development.

This position provides overall team leadership to manage mill operations in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, continuous improvement, housekeeping/5S, good manufacturing practices (GMP), internal control, asset management, customer service, human resources and team capability development. This position manages teams that drive continuous improvement on the assets in close partnership with the Continuous Improvement (CI) & Capabilities, Reliability and Engineering teams at the manufacturing site and with the regional team. Incumbent will set objectives that will have a direct and significant impact on mill and sector results and in the delivery of customer service for Kimberly-Clark.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive commitment to the health and safety of all employees under their direction, promoting and supporting occupational safety and industrial hygiene, and managing in a manner that seeks to eliminate injuries and illnesses.

  • Ensure that quality is built into the way we work by setting the highest level of expectation for the sanitary manufacture of our product.

  • Control the operation of the Mobile facility to achieve targeted key performance indicator results in the accountability areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.

  • Continue the development and implementation of LEAN manufacturing practices, including value stream (reduced cycle time), leader standard work, TPM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.

  • Own improvements in methods of management, moving the team toward best practices.

  • Manage the operation so that the work environment is maintained at the highest level of safety, housekeeping, sanitation, appearance, and physical condition to ensure compliance with corporate policies, government regulations, and good manufacturing practices.

  • Evolve the operation in a way that facilitates the participation and involvement of all employees to pursue continuous engagement and improvement in processes and systems.

  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the best talent and fosters an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use their capabilities in achieving desired business results.

  • Ensure the effective application of internal control systems and procedures.

  • Represent the mill as a liaison to staff tech support, centralized planning, marketing, and sales to ensure the successful implementation of the wipes business strategy.

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, team members, and other key stakeholders to convey ideas and influence the business.

  • Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a relevant discipline and 10+ years of equivalent related experience.

  • Experience in operations, business, engineering, lean manufacturing, and/or maintenance is preferred.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in people management and development, including experience leading a diverse team.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, influence, and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.

  • Experience in multiple plants, product systems, and corporate staff experience is highly desired.

  • Ability to lead organizational change, establish and build relationships, manage conflict, problem-solve, set priorities, develop strategic vision, and generate new ideas to deliver business results.

  • Normal scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support a 24/7 operation, with flexibility for alternative work arrangements.

  • Flexibility to travel up to 15% for benchmarking and best practice sharing across KCP, with accommodations made for individual needs.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with accommodations made for individual needs.
