Job Description

Peterson Cat has a need for a Product Support Undercarriage Specialist who can be based at any Peterson location.

SUMMARY

The Product Support Undercarriage Specialist has responsibility for Undercarriage product revenue and provides specialized knowledge, marketing and sales support for Undercarriage products. Focus is on product sales growth and gross profit objectives while maintaining a superior rating in customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Works with Product Support Sales Representatives ("PSSR") daily to develop and sell Undercarriage at acceptable sales and gross profit levels, throughout the territory.

• Works with Director of Product Support Sales and Product Support Sales Managers to determine growth target accounts, based off Opportunity Lead Generation Analyzer data, and drive sales growth.

• Works with Parts Management team to ensure appropriate product class inventory management.

• Helps develop and monitor Peterson's Marketing and Merchandising programs designed to increase sales and gross profit for Undercarriage Products offerings.

• Work with the Product Support Management Team to identify, write and monitor Territory specific "Focus" programs for Undercarriage Products.

• Provides updates and training to all sales representatives, parts counter personnel and other dealer personnel on Undercarriage Products.

• Travels to Branch Stores, job sites and customer locations, with PSSRs, as necessary.

• Works with PSSR's to properly match Undercarriage to job conditions for enhanced machine performance.

• Provide and conduct inspections and evaluations of Undercarriage to provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance of products that ensure optimum product life and value for the customer.

• Works with Product Support Management Team to develop flat rate labor and parts pricing to complement Focus programs.

• Collaborates with subject matter experts at Caterpillar in a two-way relationship - bringing product information to Peterson and transmitting customer application and acceptance, product opportunities and trends to Caterpillar.

• Help arrange and conduct customer Undercarriage and "CAT Care" meetings throughout the territory.

• Monitor and report all pertinent Undercarriage market information relative to competitive activity, customer information and product performance.

• Job requires 70% travel throughout territory.

• Communicates with sales management during the sales process to enlist help as needed.

• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

• Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

• Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree in Business or related filed and five to seven (5-7) years of directly related experience in sales, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Product Support Sales or Machine Sales experience is a plus. Solid knowledge of related industry, equipment, and customers preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

The annual pay for this position is dependent on location but at a minimum is $73,000.00. (Starting wage will depend on location, experience, and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
