Responsibilities

With general guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of product support duties of moderate scope and complexity while following and assisting in the development of procedures and processes in parts identification and stock room. May be required to assist in shipping and receiving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PARTS IDENTIFICATION

Identify parts using the proper identification methods and equipment indicated by the traveller and/or blueprint. Lay out exact dimensions and locations on the parts for identification markings.

SHIPPING

Prepare parts and/or materials to assure safe handling for shipment including the completion of the necessary paperwork and shipping records. Prepare packaging per specifications for shipment including computer input for necessary labels, forms and shipping records. Interpret

shipping instructions as referenced on company documents or customer specifications or standards related to preservation and packing. Prepare stencils and mark shipments in a legible manner.

Prepare air bills, bills of lading and sales order forms for the carrier and company records. Contact carriers for dispatching shipments, establishing rates or tracing follow-up information.

RECEIVING

Receive shipments at receiving dock and forward materials to the appropriate team.

Weigh or count incoming/outbound parts or materials. Perform data input to update system records and verify all documents for completeness and accuracy.

STOCKROOM

Receive material, check and identify parts by type or part number. Prepare parts for storage and place stock in proper location as directed.

Select parts from stock to fill orders according to parts lists. Perform cycle inventory count. Maintain, update and access necessary records utilizing a computer. If applicable, execute some advanced Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) functions such as add requisition, release requisition, edit, fill shortage and delete requisition.

Job Requirements:

Two years related product support experience or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.

May be required to operate moving equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications.

May require forklift operator certificate.

Good knowledge of computer operations.

Must demonstrate manual dexterity.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to read and understand related forms and specifications.

May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Ensures project goals and objectives are accomplished in a timely manner, and provides applications engineering support related to Central's product development efforts. This position is based at Central's Corporate Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY; relocation assistance is available to a qualified hire who currently resides outside of the Long Island, NY area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Works with Central's global field sales team to analyze customers' new product and component engineering requirements, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and cycle time is minimized. * Uses industry and market data to analyze trends and to recommend new products and technologies to expand Central's product portfolio. * Makes supply chain recommendations for proposed new products; expedites internal activities and ensures all is recorded and tracked with quick turnaround for opportunity feasibility analyses. * Performs competitive benchmark testing, characterization and analysis; summarizes findings. * Provides periodic updates to Central's field sales team on the status of new product development efforts. * Communicates with customers by telephone, email, and in person, as necessary, as part of the new product design and development process, involving sales in direct customer communications. * Provides component engineering support to customers relative to their system design and usage of Central's products, and/or specific testing and characterization requirements of new products. * Uses circuit simulation software (such as SPICE) to perform component engineering and design tasks; creates SPICE models of Central's discrete semiconductor devices using measured electrical data. * Communicates with supply chain and other technology partners by email, by telephone, and in person, as necessary. * Prepares new product development progress summaries for engineering management and other design team members, and provides updates on key product development metrics. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required BSEE or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited college or university and three to five years hands-on related experience. Experience interfacing with customers directly, and working with other worldwide contacts to accomplish position objectives. Preferred MSEE or equivalent degree; five years plus hands-on related experience; two-three years project management experience; experience with discrete semiconductors; experience working with global supply chain partners; and experience with ISO9001:2008/15 are all preferred.
