POSITION SUMMARY

Supports creating and deploys winning Medicaid product strategies and manages product portfolio to increase and retain Aetna membership. Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis on product performance, competitive position, product innovation, and product development.

review national and local trends, and recommend solutions suited to the needs of local health plans and their communities

  • As part of the Medicaid R&D team, leverage knowledge of Aetna's products, regulatory requirements, and member needs to help build competitive solutions for health plans

Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to

  • Provide strategic and analytical support to health plan leadership to evaluate product performance and design solutions tailored their needs (*)

  • Maintain strong understanding of Aetna/business unit strategy, customers, healthcare, and regulatory environment. Understand/interpret mandates

  • Build and lead collaborative cross-functional teams focused on product analysis, design, and i Collect, analyze, and interpret information on customer trends, competitor moves, and product performance

  • Generate unique and actionable insights to drive strategy

  • Understand key drivers of product performance including holistic, integrative view of all other functions, i.e. pricing, sales, distribution, quoting, marketing, as well as other markets/segments, and Aetna business processes

  • Articulate strategy in compelling manner customized for different stakeholders including laying out facts / data in easily digestible format and drawing clear conclusions (*)

  • Leverage verbal and written communication to obtain buy-in from critical partners including prioritization and funding

  • Provide input and thought leadership into broader strategy work

  • Work effectively across business areas by building and leveraging strong relationships

  • Identify cross-functional support required to achieve business objectives, including areas of tactical and strategic support

  • Lead and support team in multiple competing products/projects with effective prioritization and eye for detail (*)

  • Take full accountability for end result, serve as product expert, and leverage all resources available to achieve objectives implementation (*)Background/Experience Desired:

  • Professional with 5+ years related work experience

  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem solving and process improvement

  • 3+ years of Medicaid health care experience

Education and Certification

Requirements:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience

Additional Information (situational competencies, skills, work location requirements, etc.):

  • Experience leading cross functional project management initiatives

  • In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment

  • Advanced communication/presentation skills

  • Requires ability to be innovative and resourceful in developing solutions

These analyses are aimed at determining portfolio risk and operational performance in order to accurately forecast future delinquency and loss performance for the Home Loans portfolio. Key functions involve extracting data from key analytical databases, forecasting delinquency and losses using asset quality monitoring, identifying business trends, and understanding economic/portfolio conditions. Frequent communication and interactions with all levels of management are required in order to relay key information related to delinquency and loss projections, performance trends, and variance attribution. The ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral form is a critical skill for this position. While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to act independently, as well as interact with business partners (both within and external to the department). This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently develop and drive forecasting improvements. Enterprise Role Overview: Responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling for multiple products with the goal of maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing risk and operating losses and/or other financial and marketing exposures. Develops complex program models to extract data and uses multiple databases to acquire statistical and financial data. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose policy/procedural changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Build relationships with external agencies. Participates in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. SAS and/or Micro Strategy experience preferred; 2-5 years' experience preferred. May be filled as an Analyst II or III depending on experience and skill set.
