Location- Lake Forest, IL 60045
Duration- 06 months
The primary role of the Product Stewardship Specialist is to assist the Principle Specialist in addressing the organizations chemical and product regulatory compliance concerns including compliance with the requirements of RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, WEEE and EPR. These chemical product and regulatory compliance concerns include; development and maintenance of standards and procedures related to product stewardship; development and conducting product stewardship training for employees; and conducting audits and inspections related to compliance with the organizations product stewardship programs.
This position will liaise with the Supply Chain, R&D, Regulatory Affairs and manufacturing locations to provide support to the Operations function within the organization.
Primary Responsibility:

Provide and coordinate input for new product development.

Search and document objective evidence for compliance with client products to Product Stewardship requirements.

Full understanding of software used by the organization for the documentation of Product Stewardship (GEMS) as well as SAP, APLM and others.

Skills and Experience:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of regulatory standards and legal requirements related to Product Stewardship in the countries where the organization operates.

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Participation in cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.

Experience in the medical device industry and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function preferred.

Knowledge:

Detail-oriented

Demonstrates leadership skills

Ability to influence without authority

Bi-lingual helpful but not required


Educational and Background

Requirements:

Four-year undergraduate degree required with a major in Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology or a related science desirable.

Satisfactory drug/criminal background check.
