We are seeking a Product Specialist to join our Rexel team at our Louisville, KY location!

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes & assembles lighting portion of job quotes as well as individual quotes.

  • Faxes request for quote to all vendors/reps required.

  • Reviews rep quotes and exceptions & compares to fixture schedule/requirements.

  • Inputs all formal quotes with special attention to fixture schedule requirements (i.e.: part #'s, descriptions, lamping & voltages). Makes all appropriate exceptions required. Adds an approx 5-8% freight line.

  • Works closely with our outside sales staff to determine our discount and our final mark up to customer.

  • Faxes & files all formal quotes.

  • Upon receipt of a project for submittal inputs "won" in the quotes system, coordinates with manager to determine who will run the lighting project, then emails that person the quote and hands over quote file to that person.

  • Answers miscellaneous incoming quotes calls.

  • Participates in product meetings, seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge.

  • Participates in improving operations by offering potential solutions to existing methods.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of lighting products.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with outside sales staff, customers and co-workers to satisfy job requirements.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize job tasks.

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.

  • Ability & willingness to pitch in and help others if required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with minimum 2 years related experience, specifically with lighting and products.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills and ability to drive decisions with influence.

  • Product and application knowledge essential.

  • Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word.

The Product Specialist will work closely with the operations team and the customer to ensure that all specifications are being followed, work is proceeding on schedule, within budget, and also training the customer on how to use the product. This role is integral in performing integrated testing for existing, modified, or custom software to be implemented for our clients. By being the single point of contact to our customers a proactive, positive, problem solving approach is crucial. Projects are installed throughout the U.S and internationally. General Job Duties * Complete software validation, ensuring that all software modules meet functional specifications, design documents, and end user requirements. * Writes test plans, test procedures, test scripts/cases, supporting SQL queries, test summaries and other test documents for the assigned software. * Assist with researching, documenting and communicating escalated customer problems. * Be an integral participant in the software installation, testing, debugging, and eventual turnover of the system to the customer. * Submit weekly Project Reports to keep the customer continually updated, hold teleconferences, and schedule face-to-face meetings. Superior Performance Objectives * Build and share subject matter expertise about our product and business with customers during the sales cycle. * Validate that software functionality developed meets the requirements during internal weekly meetings. * Work with Software Developers. The Product Specialist will regularly communicate with Software Developers to improve our product and solve issues. They must grasp major principles of BSS's development platform and architecture in order to effectively work with the Software Developers. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or other related discipline. * Willingness to travel 40-50% overnight travel. Travel expenses will be covered by the company. * Strong computer skills with: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Databases (SQL Server and Oracle). * Unity experience preferred but not required. * Experience with material handling systems and/or warehouse management systems preferred. * Passion for industrial engineer and creating efficiencies * Ability to clearly communicate with project teams and customers verbally and in writing. * Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
