Mid-Continent is currently searching for a Product Specialist in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for product premium volume growth and profitability results within assigned product lines.

  • Serve as primary product support contact for business units, agents, and other staff.

  • Interact with relevant departments such as Claims, Underwriting, Sales/Marketing, and provide customer service support (i.e. agents, regulators and industry groups).

  • Lead or participate in business unit, compliance, claims, agency, program reviews, and audits (i.e. compliance audits, rate/pricing reviews, and agency reviews.)

  • Partner with the IT department on prioritization, implementation, and enhancements of operational systems to ensure production capabilities are both effective and efficient.

  • Accountable for the development of new and revised insurance products, policies, and other required forms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.

  • Monitor pertinent insurance publications to determine impact on line of business. This may include:

  • Identify emerging coverage issues, state regulatory concerns, and business unit needs.

  • Develop action plans, implementing, and communicating changes when appropriate.

  • Resolve and/or assist with researching, documenting, and communicating highly complex compliance related issues.

  • Provide technical advice to lower level positions and other functional areas.

  • Recommend action plans and strategic direction for functional areas and maintains alignment with other product managers to ensure successful development of entire product line.

  • Maintain the review, approval and implementation of assigned filings and ensures compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Monitor product performance.

  • Provide summary analysis, makes recommendations and communicates to business units.

  • Provide recommendations of product and rate revisions, underwriting guidelines, manuals, and procedures.

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources specific to product.

  • Lead in the development of training and communication materials and providing training as necessary on product/rate changes for staff, field, and agency personnel.

  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.

  • May have accountability for ensuring that the unit meets budget and performance objectives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Candidate must have 8 or more years of related experience with 3 or more years of experience in ISO products.

  • This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Certification in area of expertise may be required; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), Associate of Risk Management (ARM), Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) or other applicable designations.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under general supervision, Product Returns is responsible for receiving all merchandise from all locations in the warehouse, and storing the merchandise in a proper manner and placing it in the proper area while abiding by all safety guidelines. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Receive delivery trucks, returns, work orders from the loading dock, inter-store transfers, repossessions, and mattresses; place merchandise in proper area with the correct tag/label; must be able to quickly gain knowledge of merchandise; all merchandise received must be labeled and scanned properly with scan guns to ensure an accurate inventory count; check daily assignments and responsibilities; assemble merchandise; scan merchandise from individual departments within the warehouse to other departments within the warehouse; use excellent customer relations with both external and internal customers. Any other duties as directed by management. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; must have knowledge of proper scan gun procedures and Storis; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and safety procedures. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion. Heavy Work: Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 30 lbs constantly to move objects.
