Sumo Logic, Inc. seeks Product Research Analyst (Product Manager) in Redwood City, California.


  • Analyze and define product roadmap and perform short- and long-term business strategies by formulating and applying models and methods.

  • Measure and track key business, financial metrics, and key market research. Gather insights for strategic product development.

  • Synthesize direct and indirect customer feedback and data to identify product opportunities that help to define the product roadmap and feature backlog.

  • Work closely with user experience team. Interface with all the functions within the organization to gain market and customer insight.


  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Science, System Design, Business Administration (with concentration in analytical, technical field) or related field and two (2) years of experience as a Product/Technical Analyst, Product Manager, Systems Engineer or in a related role.

  • Experience with:

  • R Programming;

  • Porters, SWOT, PEST and Six Sigma analyses;

  • Development strategy and presentations utilizing Value-based Analysis;

  • and Development and Backlog Management using tools such as Telelogic, Aha! or Jira

VIEW JOBS 1/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-18T00:00 The Sr. Product Analytics Manager will partner with Shutterfly's Photos and Share team to identify, define and answer key questions, providing actionable insights that can drive Product Innovation and Optimization across both web and native mobile applications. The individual will help ensure the correct measurements are defined and instrumented. The individual will also provide be responsible for analysis when projects launch, for tracking ongoing performance, and helping define opportunities for optimization and improvement. This role requires an individual with strong analytical skills, E-commerce or similar experience, excellent communications skills, and ability to synthesize and simplify complex issues. This is a great opportunity to play a key leadership role in helping Photos and Share become a world-class data and insights-driven team. RESPONSIBILITIES * Serve as analytics expert and process owner, leader, and motivator on a cross-functional team. * Answer key Product and Business questions: define analytics approach, retrieve and manipulate data needed to perform analysis, and deliver actionable insights to Product Management team. * Build and maintain domain expertise in relevant data sets and be able to think strategically about what data is critical to capture * Collaborate with Product Managers in developing A/B test plans for new features and workflows. * Create, maintain and publish KPI Dashboards for Product Management team; automating and enabling team members to self-serve whenever possible. * Establish collaborative working relationship with business partners across departments; coordinate with other Analysts; participate and share findings with the broader Analyst community at Shutterfly. QUALIFICATIONS * CS. or M.S. degree in quantitative field and 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Strategy Consulting, Internet Marketing, Decision Support, or related field. Prefer Masters Degree in Business Analytics, Analytics, Quantitative Management, Operations Research, MBA with Business Analytics concentration or similar. * Thorough understanding of Internet and Mobile App data collection and metrics. Should be able to relate to standard marketing and ecommerce metrics like conversion rates, response rates, lift, ROAS, and ROI. Comfortable with technical concepts and systems * Ideally also familiar with Cloud services and subscription businesses, economics, and KPIs (including notions such as CAC to LTV ratios, churn rates, Monthly/Annual recurring revenue, etc.); as well as dynamics in social and mobile ecosystems and ability to define metrics and analyze growth and virality * Proficient with SQL (or able to learn very quickly); Excel power user; deep experience with Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel or another web/native mobile analytics platform; Tableau knowledge strongly desired. * Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to all levels of an organization and to different stakeholders. Highly collaborative. Able to work effectively with a diverse, distributed team * Proven ability to develop forecasts around key metrics in a complex, dynamic business and perform business modeling * Detail oriented with ability to independently validate / triangulate data and analysis * Proactive with an interest in improving processes and creating efficiencies * Curious about what drives business trends; demonstrated capacity to learn, intellectual honesty and independent thinking * Comfortable with unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high growth environment.
