Job Description

This position reports directly to the Global Product Regulatory Compliance Program Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all John Crane products are compliant with applicable product regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring that the necessary product related SDSs are authored, maintained and readily available to all interested parties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with the ongoing identification of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards in the field of product regulatory compliance related to John Crane products.

  • Serves as a resource across the organization in the area of product regulatory compliance.

  • Oversees the collection, management and analysis of all product regulatory compliance data.

  • Supports cross-functional teams on product regulatory compliance-related issues.

  • Assist in the administration of documentation collection from suppliers to ensure product regulatory compliance.

  • Perform timely product regulatory compliance and risk reviews throughout all product lifecycle stages.

  • Function as a point of contact for product regulatory compliance-related questions from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactively collaborates with other functions including Operations, Quality, HSE, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Materials Lab, etc. to identify and mitigate potential product regulatory compliance risks.

  • Monitor for new and/or changes to existing product regulatory compliance laws, regulations and industry standards.

  • Provide support for product regulatory compliance-related customer inquiries.

  • Support the authoring of product-related safety data sheets, implementation of product labeling programs and raw material introduction programs.

  • Assist with the preparation of external product registrations/certifications/notifications to support existing business and to secure business growth.

  • Assist in the development and administration of product regulatory compliance training.

  • Participate in advocacy activities with Trade Associations as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned and commensurate with experience.

The Individual

  • B.S. Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering/polymer science or related science (preferably Electrical/Electronics) is required combined with a good understanding of mechanics.

  • 5 years' experience working in a similar role.

  • Broad knowledge (intermediate level) of global product regulatory compliance regulations, standards and product certifications. (Knowledge specific to the sealing and/or electronics industries a plus.)

  • Demonstrated learning agility.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

  • Willing to travel (up to 10% travel).

  • Proficient in MS Office applications and comfortable learning new IT systems.

Salary & Benefits

The total compensation range for this role is $80,000-$110,000 per year based on level of experience.
