Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Product Quality Lead Engineer.
In this role, this person should be a passionate, visionary leader capable of driving change and discipline throughout the organization. Whirlpool is looking for someone with the ability to serve as a business partner to the various division leaders, as well as the rest of senior management. We want someone with experience in an operation or manufacturing setting with a solid background in new product introduction (NPI) quality and sustaining quality is required to be successful in this role
Own and deliver Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) reporting, including annual profit plan, long-range plans, and monthly outlooks
Own process for cross-functional quality assurance and management teams to drive design, manufacturing and supplier quality improvements
Identify top drivers and drive containment and issue resolution. Own early warning monitoring including weekly, monthly meeting and action lists
Coordinate projects, manufacturing planning, and testing and existing product management
Provide quality data analysis and risk management on all Cost Improvement and Quality Improvement (CI/QI) projects
Maintain weekly/ monthly project updates and host a commercial quality meeting
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Ability to influence and change the organization
Strong data acquisition, analysis, and knowledge building skills
Product Knowledge and technical product development
Knowledge and exposure to manufacturing processes
Ability to master details of Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) information and reporting systems
Ability to work with all levels and functions within the organization
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven track record to create organizational alignment
Proven ability to drive initiatives that support change
Leadership skills in driving new ideas
Proven ability to analyze and process problems while providing effective solutions
Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
Proven ability to create and lead effective cross-functional teams to resolve issues, deliver results
Must be customer focused
Proven success in leading and implementing lean practices and principles
Six Sigma black belt certification preferred
