Job Introduction

The Product Quality Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager. Nascote offers a very competitve compensation package including quarterly and annual profit sharing.

Major Responsibilities

Monitor dimensional results of assigned current production programs for trends and loss of capability and investigate as needed.Work with Engineering to implement ECNs on assigned current production programs.Visit customer ship-to location for assigned current production programs.Maintain relationships and resolve quality issues at customer ship-to locations. Assists Quality Engineers and Program Engineers with troubleshooting part improvements for fit, function, and appearance.Provides program support when Quality Engineer is not available due to travel/vacation, etc.Analyzes data and recommends actions based on results.Represents Nascote at vendors and customer locations.Assist in the manufacture of prototype and pre-production parts including AAR parts.Assists Quality Engineers with compiling information for PPAP submittals.Review, interpret and summarize statistical data as requested.Must be competent in and utilize AIAG "Core Tools"Writes, tracks, and dispositions V.I.D.'s.Communicate/Network with all processes/departments to relay pertinent production and pre-production information.Assist in creating boundary standards for the plant.Initiates shipping requests, completes customer required shipping documents, packages or coordinates packaging of sample parts, packaging and tooling.Assist Quality Engineer in creating blue dot checklists as well as assisting with blue dot inspection.Assist with writing deviations.Maintain log of shipments.Ensures the QA department is acting in the safest manner possible

  • Conducts monthly safety audits.Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.Assists in the trouble shooting for manufacturing problems.Conducts 5S audits of QA areas.Participates in improvement teams, concern resolution reports (8D) and other formal problem solving and improvement activities. Takes a leadership role in many cases.Participates in department initiatives - e.g. business plan development / execution, procedure development, QOS.Participates in department meetings.Completes documentation of activities as required.Submits cost reduction and innovation ideas.Maintains a clean and safe work area.Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Education

B.S. in Engineering or Technical Degree.

Work Experience

Education or past job duties requiring problem solving, computer applications and following technical instructions.

Skills and Competencies

Preferred Knowledge of SPC, DOE, inspection and testing; project management.Preferred

  • GD&T and metrology background.Must have excellent problem solving and math skills, including 8D methodology, advanced SPC and DOE.Must have good computer skills, including use of spreadsheets and databases.Must work well with others. Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities.Must have the ability to read automotive blueprints and engineering specifications.

Work Environment

Office environment. Spends some time in manufacturing environment using normal PPE and safety precautions.Willingness to travel.

(brief summary of the role) This role will perform Software Quality Engineering responsibilities for the Engagement Solutions business in the Network and Financials division within CHC's Software and Analytics vertical. This position will develop and modify existing manual and automated processes to support APIs, middle tier components, and full stack SaaS B2B2C software packages. We are looking for a team member who is ready to take ownership of assigned projects by providing thorough functional and automated testing, building maintainable documentation, and delivering stable features with an ever-increasing level of quality. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small collaborative team with a DevOps culture. As a member of the Software Quality Engineer Team, you will: * Collaborate with Product and Development teams to fully understand deliverables and develop an appropriate testing strategy. * Functional test new features in a variety of projects including UI web applications, middle tier components, and APIs. * Automate regression tests by writing both end-to-end browser tests and integration tests. * Estimate testing efforts and help to move software releases through all environments. * Highlight opportunities that reduce risk of defects and improve quality and testability. * Contribute to documentation from project wikis to test plans. * Assist in troubleshooting issues to understand the full scope of bugs. * Mentor team members and help achieve team initiatives. * Help drive better metrics and quality review initiatives to gain insight into the behavior of our applications.
