Position Summary

The Human Resources Products team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines human resources products and application technologies, including but not limited to mobile and web applications, collaboration tools, CRM products, budget/financial management products, HR applications, and other services. This department also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.

The Product Owner, Human Resource Information Products will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Human Resource Information products and services, ensuring that they align with the university's strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of UCLA's students, faculty, and staff. These types of products will be used to enhance HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, performance management, payroll, benefits, and other HR functions.

The Product Owner, Human Resource Information Products will conduct customer research and collaborate with key stakeholders across the university to develop and convey a distinct product vision. The Human Resource Information Product Owner will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence by working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and users to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver exceptional value. The Product Owner, Human Resources Information Products will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage human resources products and applications.

This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications

5 years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, application services, product services, computer science, computer information systems, etc. (Required) Experience participating in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (Required) Experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices. (Required) 7+ years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, application services, product services, computer science, computer information systems, etc. (Preferred) Advanced knowledge of Human Resource Information product development concepts, practices, standards, and processes. (Required) Proven ability to identify key issues critical to the organization's long-range success of a desired product or service. (Required) Analytical mindset, with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement. (Required) Proven track record of delivering successful Human Resource Information products that meet user needs and drive value. (Required) Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required) Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required) Advanced organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholder types. (Required) Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to uncover root of difficult problems and scope solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines as well as awareness of vision and strategy. (Required) Thinks creatively and introduces innovations such as the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Thrives in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, organization development, communication, or public administration, or related field, or equivalent experience/training. (Required) Certified Scrum Product Owner (Preferred)
