Position Title: Product Owner
Location: Aurora, IL or Atlanta, GA
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Product
This product owner is responsible for defining, launching and building profitable product solution platforms for the security categories. They work cross functionally to ensure the products/solutions are developed to the feature and price specifications that each target market segment demands. The Product Owner owns the product lifecycle from concept phase through development and launch. The Product Owner is required to have deep expertise in market segmentation, product strategy, competitive strategy, and product development.
Develop a vision and strategy for the product categories you lead.
Develop and own product plans with right innovation and product cadence aligned with brand architecture.
Develop & present project business cases including pro forma financials, capital and engineering requirements, and other decision metrics.
Accomplish results through strong cross-functional (including Sales, Brand, Engineering and Technology, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.) relationships and leadership including product development and launch activities.
Accelerate time-to-market while adhering to the development process. Drive cross-functional reviews to bring concepts from ideation stage to production.
Develop and execute strategies to simplify platforms and align future product plans with the strategy.
Own innovation pipeline and drive plans to create robust product plans aligned with brand architecture and consumer segmentation.
Deliver cost and quality targets for your product categories. Coordinate activities with cost and quality leads to develop robust plans to hit and/or exceed targets.
Leverage market research to drive fact-based, consumer-centric decisions that support our brand leadership positioning.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in product development or marketing with a strong consumer focus required.
Proven track record of delivering extraordinary results in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven project management experience; excellent meeting organization and facilitation skills. Very strong working knowledge of the Stage Gate and Agile methodologies.
Capability to quickly grasp and execute continuous improvement methodologies to various processes.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proven thought leadership capabilities, creative thinking skills, ability to quickly drive change.
Excellent analytical skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with Jira Software/Product Management tool a plus.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in related function outside of product development such as brand marketing, sales, project management, or merchandising highly preferred.
Durable goods or related consumer focused product development experience.
Global business or retail experience preferred.
