CGI has an immediate need for a Product Owner (Agile, Product Mgmt) to join our financial services team in Reston, VA. CGI is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Product Owner to support product transformation effort in secondary mortgage industry. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent product management/product development background, has Agile experience, and experience on Front End of mortgage business in loan origination or loan delivery business process. Candidates must have a willingness to understand existing processes and systems, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to make decisions quickly in consultation with team members and subject matter experts and be able to build relationships, actively participate in team work, and understand the dynamics and critical nature of the business.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree in related field

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the product development team to create a strong end product

  • Nurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems

  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals

  • Extract and retrieve information and data sets to improve upon software

  • Determine roadmaps for products in the creation phase

  • Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.

  • Ability to collaborate well and promote ideas.

  • Works well under pressure, handling projects that have real-time high dependency and challenging business deadlines.

  • Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet software expectations

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Experience as a product owner in the industry

  • Product management and product development experience

  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Successful track record of developing products, in-particular keen

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

VIEW JOBS 8/6/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-11-04T00:00 Resp & Qualifications PURPOSE: Provide the direction, guidance & leadership to the team of Product Owners who are leading the efforts to define Product Backlogs for one or more related products in a program portfolio. This position is accountable for the success of the product(s) under their purview. Lead Product Owner works directly with the Product Manager to understand and execute on a program vision and strategic roadmap, and with stakeholders, business owners, and sponsors to define high level business requirements that will help the team achieve that vision. This position will be guiding a team of PO's build an integrated suite of customer service and care management applications. We are utilizing ServiceNow as an inquiry platform (PaaS), Java, and Angular to create a compelling suite of applications. There are currently three products, with more to be added, that will be part of this customer services suite. The Lead PO will work with similar Lead positions in development, architecture, and business to coordinate and synchronize product design, development and delivery. The goal is to ensure a consistent stream of capabilities are delivered on a timely basis. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Under the general direction of the FEP Product Manager the incumbent's accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Provide the direction, guidance & leadership to the team of Product Owners who are leading the efforts of defining the Product Backlogs. Lead Product Owner works directly with the with business owner/sponsor to define the high-level business requirements as per the established strategic roadmap. Engages the Product Owners, Architects and technical SMEs and other team members to discuss the technical feasibility of business asks and come up with high level solution. Works with the Product Owners and business owners to define the Epics and features for the products and add them to the Product Backlogs. Works with business owner to determine priority for the Epics and Features. Provides direction and support to Product Owners to define the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) and Minimum Marketable Functionality (MMF). * Participates into the Product Backlog Refinement sessions with Product Owners and team. Provides guidance and necessary inputs from business perspective to the scrum teams during the grooming sessions. Lead Product Owner assists with communicating the technical challenges/hurdles to business owner and help resolve the issues related to business. Follows the Agile playbook and process at the FEPOC to support agile delivery. Conducts the Release planning sessions with business owners to understand the business priorities for the upcoming release/iteration. Plan and conduct the release planning sessions with the internal scrums teams to share the roadmap and business priorities for the upcoming release/iteration. . Participates into daily scrum stand-ups as required/time permits, as well as retrospectives, product demonstrations and other scrum ceremonies. Provides inputs to business owner in defining the strategic business roadmap to achieve the program vision. Needs to be very familiar with products and be able to demonstrate product capabilities for internal and external audiences. * Guides & coaches product owners and senior business analysts on how to determine the MVP of a product or feature. Mentors the team on how to break down the MVP into the User Stories and team for writing effective User Stories. Reviews the User Stories and provides constructive feedback to the product owners and/or business analysist. Provides inputs to the Scrum Masters on improvement opportunities with grooming sessions. Engages with business stake holders as-need basis to educate, learn and provide input to support/improve Agile delivery. Provides input and champions Agile process improvement initiatives based on team/external feedback. * Support culture change to improve delivery agility. Support on boarding of the new members of the product owners and business analysts. Provides coaching to team members who are new to Scrum and Agile practices. Supports Team building and Team development by fully utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering a feedback culture. This position requires minimal "on call" for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution. Travel between all CareFirst locations may be required. Travel between CareFirst locations and client offices may be required. This position is subject to a level 6C security requirement. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering or equivalent work experience required. Overall 10+ years of IT and business experience in planning, Business Analysis, System Analysis, Technical design/development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms. Minimum six years of previous Product Owner experience in a dynamic high-technology environment is required. Required: * Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Product owner. * Experience leading a team of diverse professionals and guiding them to a common goal * Excellent communication, interpersonal & leadership skills * Comfortable presenting and demonstrating product capabilities to large audiences * Hands on experience with Agile practices, Scrum process, Kanban etc. * Sufficient business and industry knowledge to understand the product needs of the future and influence all stakeholders to prioritize them. * Understanding of Web & Mobile technologies, user experience modelling/evolution etc. * Knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle and the Project Management Lifecycle. * The ability to discover the potential business and product opportunities * Experience with product roadmaps development, and influencing key stake holders on business priorities * Experience with managing the creation and grooming of user stories and defining acceptance criteria in Scrum. * Support product evolution by engaging all stakeholders and sponsors, documentation of future state requirements, development of a Product vision/roadmap for the future and aligning stakeholders on the path ahead. Skills/Abilities: * Candidates should have proven product leadership experience with multiple medium to large projects. Experience working directly with clients and scrum teams in implementing the production backlog. Experience presenting and influencing senior management in business and technical lines of business. Ability to take and defend decisions. Provide guidance to multiple scrum teams. Ability to articulate the business vision and requirements to the technical teams to come up with high level solutions. Experience with contributing new product ideas to business stakeholders at various forums using the tools like presentations, product demonstration etc. Technical and Domain knowledge of claims, enrollment & health insurance industry preferred. Understanding contemporary technologies and how technologies can be leveraged to solve business problems. Flexibility is essential to this position. Excellent communication, written as well as verbal, documentation and interpersonal skills. Preferred: * Prior experience as Technical Lead, System Analyst, and Business Analyst with technical background is a big plus. * Technical and Domain knowledge of claims, enrollment & health insurance industry preferred; experience in Health insurance domain a plus * Experience in and knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
