Danfoss is looking for a Product Marketing Manager at our Milwaukee, WI location. The Product Marketing Manager is the leader for establishing and executing a sustainable product growth strategy in North America and will be the owner and driver for complete product marketing experience and be responsible for launching great products that win customers loyalty.

Background and Skills

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria.

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Engineering

  • 3-5 years' experience in related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

  • Experience with presenting to internal and external customers

  • Experience with pricing administration and consultation preferred

  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce a plus

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Assess the current product portfolio, develop product road maps, outline the market strategy and manage the product positioning, promotion and placement throughout the products lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify, develop, launch, grow products in the market and maintain a successful business.

  • Obtain customer insights, market demand for new products using tools like QFDs, panel of experts and other voice of customer methods

  • Develop market specifications for new product developments including ownership of the market specification, the launch plan, and overall portfolio plan including phase out. Lead marketing activities, product launch plan, commercial product training, product promotions and strategic pricing direction

  • Work with Sales, Service, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering teams to coordinate activities and manage the commercial aspects of the product portfolio including ongoing performance measurement, financial analysis, pricing excellence, marketing and customer support.

This typically spans changes made for improving product quality (internal and external), cost optimization, customer adaptations, component obsolescence, supplier changes, etc. Additional responsibilities include exploring new technologies and processes planned for future products. Background and Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Power Engineering. In lieu of master's degree in Power Electronics or Power Engineering, employer will accept bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 3 years work experience with IGBT/power semiconductors, power topologies, analog design/control electronics, magnetics/filters, and CAD engineering design tools (including MatLab, MathCad and Pspice), and printed circuit boards * Working knowledge of the following: IGBT/power semiconductors, power topologies, analog design/control electronics, and magnetics/filters; computer aided engineering design tools, including MatLab, MathCad and Pspice, as well as PC based computer equipment and peripherals. * Strong working knowledge of printed circuit boards, and the ability to trouble shoot component issues * Ability to perform engineering analysis of Variable Frequency Drives * Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English along with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Knowledge of variable frequency drives or inverter design, preferred. * Strong analytical and technical skills * Experienced in Lean, DFSS, DFMEA, PFMEA continuous improvement and experience in improving product quality, design-to-cost, VAVE processes preferred. * Experienced in problem solving methods using standard tools such as 4 Step, 8D etc Job Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. * Take product ownership from a design perspective once the product is released and ensure that the product meets the customer requirements with the highest quality and the right cost. * Prepare product design validation plans/specifications for the designs, execute the plan and document the results appropriately * Maintain records pertinent to each project in the form of time, sketches, drawings, material specifications, etc. * Oversee the operations involved in the construction and testing of prototype products. * Lead taskforces to resolve issues before they escalate and become a crisis * The key success criteria for this position will be yearly quality improvements, annual cost reduction and on time release of Product Adaptations * Travel: Some local and international travel required to visit customers, suppliers, etc. Estimated travel between 10 to 15% We are Engineering Tomorrow The world faces growing populations, booming urbanization and rapid climate change.
