Job Description:

We need a hard charging Product Line Manager for our PLP business unit to help grow our business. This high impact Product Line Manager will be responsible for taking our leadership in networking and automotive products to the next level, which includes Ethernet based Microcontroller and Processor products. As a Product Line manager, you will work with customers, technologists, and engineering to define a product from scratch and drive through the product planning process.


  • Create market requirements document (MRD) for next generation products covering all aspects of the product, including next generation automotive camera and sensor features, microcontroller requirements and software requirements. Drive customer requirements into the engineering development process and serve as advocate for customer in the prioritization process

  • Plan roadmap and portfolio by working with customers, sales, FAEs, and design team. Prepare and deliver executive proposals for new product investment. Identify areas of product focus and new investment, perform market analysis and competitive comparisons.

  • Lead cross functional teams to deliver a total market solution, including silicon, reference hardware, software and documentation

  • Create product launch plans, including positioning, pricing, customer and sales collateral and customer and channel training

  • Drive design wins: work with sales force to identify, track and drive to close design opportunities

  • Develop strong customer relationship with strategic OEM accounts in the market. Marshal the management, marketing, and engineering resources of the business unit to ensure success

  • Manage product line revenue and margin, establish product pricing, monthly forecasting, contribute to business plans, conduct competitive analysis and manage entire product life cycle

  • Support product change, die revisions, errata notification and EOL process. In addition ensure stable pre-production and production supply via forecasting, inventory/buffer management

Job Requirements

  • Experience in Product Marketing, Business development of networking semiconductor products. Must have at least one equivalent title of: Product Marketing Manager/Director, or Product Line Manager/Director. New Business development experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with Ethernet and Processor market and technology is essential, and familiarity with Automotive networking is a strong plus

  • Comprehensive background in microcontroller and processors and its corresponding system elements necessary to evaluate performance, cost and power tradeoffs

  • Familiarity with Real Time Operating System used for Automotive applications a strong plus

  • Must have proven product definition experience with successful products

  • Comprehensive background in semiconductor design necessary to evaluate product tradeoffs for schedule, manufacturing cost, power and total development cost.

  • Minimum of 12 years of marketing experience (at least 3 years of which should include experience in managing a revenue base and complex products)

  • Bachelor degree in EE or Computer Science required. Masters degree in EE or Computer Science or MBA is a strong plus.

Must have skills and understanding of:

  • Design Win process

  • Pricing (competitive analysis of costs, market value, Bill-of-materials)

  • Product promotion (OEM and distribution channel)

  • Negotiation of pricing and contracts

  • Ability to handle fast pace and pressure environment

  • Strong initiative and self-starter attitude

  • Distinct accomplishment that clearly contributed to increased revenue

The position will be located in Irvine, CA. The ability to travel 30% worldwide, including weekends for conferences or events is required. The Product Director, Worldwide Marketing, is an important position within the team at ASP. This talented individual will develop & execute global strategies, under the direction of the Director, Worldwide Marketing. You will be responsible for the development of product portfolio strategies, resulting pipeline development with cross-functional teams, and the launch of the respective new products & product iterations on a worldwide basis. This position will serve as a member on product development core teams collaborating with multiple functions including: R&D, Clinical & Regulatory, Education & Training and Supply Chain among others. You will become a product expert on ASP product lines and work closely with our regional commercial marketing partners around the world to drive revenue growth and market share gains. You will identify unmet needs through the design and execution of global Voice of Customer (VOC) activities and will translate these needs into viable customer solutions. You will develop new product value propositions, develop these products, and launch these products globally. Product launch responsibilities include brand development, delivering global product training, and collaboration with regional commercial marketing and education teams to ensure seamless product introductions worldwide. RESPONSIBILITIES * Develops and manages strategic new product marketing plans and programs to grow the business and meet/exceed global Business Plan forecasts * Represents the marketing function on cross-functional new product core teams * Works closely with R&D to develop next generation of pipeline products and procedural techniques / workflows * Accountable for developing marketing plans for new products/solutions worldwide in alignment with commercial groups * Develops financial models supporting New Product Development opportunities globally, taking into consideration regional variations & various stages of market maturity * Collaborates with Market and Business Insight groups for all competitive intelligence and competitive information related to the product portfolio * Collaborates with the Business Development team to assess and recommend new market entry strategies for existing or adjacent opportunities * Designs product launch strategies, tactics, timelines and metrics for success * Executes aligned global product launch plans, including, positioning, pricing & promotional aspects for new products * Formulates claims development for new products, working with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations * Delivers product training at global launch training programs * Ensures product knowledge is effectively transferred to commercial regional groups and field organizations * Ensures business continuity through demand planning and forecasting activities with regional commercial marketing partners Do you strive to join an outstanding team that is dynamic and ever-changing?
