The Product Marketing Director for Global Product Marketing leads and manages all aspects of go-to-market planning and implementation for US Equity products distributed through T. Rowe Price's U.S. Intermediary (USI) business. The Product Marketing Director will be responsible for formulating and defining the marketing strategy, positioning, content development, and measurement with the goal of improving and enhancing our ability to grow, win and retain assets in this space. The Product Marketing Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the product positioning for all US Equity strategies on the Focus List and contributing to Enterprise Promotional Plans for Equity as applicable.

The Director collaborates with Global Product, Global Marketing peers, USI Sales Leadership and USI Advisor Marketing to identify marketing strategies and initiatives. The leader oversees the execution of the product content, including the deliverables produced by other groups such as Global Client Investment Reporting (GCIR) and coordinates matrixed resources from other departments, such as investment management and shared services. The objective is to produce and disseminate sophisticated, intermediary and segment relevant content, including presentations, which will be curated by other groups, such as USI Advisor Marketing, for custom client programs. In addition, this role will serve as the subject matter expert for Global Marketing for advertising, digital and public relations material that positively position and differentiate T. Rowe Price in the marketplace to increase awareness, consideration, and selection by intermediary investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the strategic approach for US Equity product marketing and monitors a suite of products based on business unit goals and objectives. Integrates the demands of various segments, the competitive landscapes, and the industry environment to develop campaign plans and may also execute on these plans. Takes ownership of business unit results for asset class or product suite, setting explicit marketing performance goals for priority products, and incorporating constructive feedback into work processes.

  • Synthesizes complex criteria of the target audience, client requirements, the competitive landscape, and the market environment to lead the selection of product focus priorities in collaboration with business unit leaders based on extensive understanding of industry and market trends. Responsible for the promotion and competitive differentiators to position these products for specific client segments, highlighting key benefits and competitive advantages.

  • Develops differentiated value propositions and messaging for a region/business unit based on deep understanding of capabilities, client requirements, the competitive landscape, and the market environment for specific target audiences. May develop custom collateral for specific target audiences.

  • Understands and integrates business objectives across business units to develop integrated campaigns and communications plans in partnership with other product marketing roles, key stakeholders, and business leadership. Develops custom content for specific target audiences.

  • Prioritizes recommendations for product development, product management, and pricing for a region/business unit for products of strategic importance based on understanding of client requirements and competitive landscape for a specific market segment in partnership with business unit leadership. Determines strategic direction for assigned products.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • Thorough understanding of intermediary distribution strategy and financial advisors' needs, challenges, and business process with proven experience in leveraging this knowledge to develop, launch and manage products and solutions that demonstrate added value for financial professionals and home office gatekeepers.

  • Excellent influencing skills as this position is primarily integrating and aligning the priorities, needs and requirements of the broader Global Marketing organization.

  • Proven ability to partner with sales leadership and field sales associates as well as channel marketing leads to ensure financial advisor (client) feedback is continuously provided.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and challenge stakeholders.

  • Experience in advisor/intermediary distribution within asset management or insurance industry, ideally with product marketing of Equities.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with an ability to present to small and large groups of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Highly energized, detail oriented, creative thinker who drives business results in a dynamically changing environment.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 10+ years of total relevant work experience

  • Deep investment product marketing experience focused on Equities distributed in the US Intermediary market. Strong knowledge of vehicles other vehicles, such as Mutual Funds, ETF, SMAs and CITs.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
